    Hi, I'm so glad that i finally get to see Rune's forehand analysis! Can you make video of Rune's unique racket head up while his forehand unit turn please...?

    Great that you demystified the wrist movement 🎉. So many online comments and videos claimed “modern forehand “ is all about wrist.

      Annoys the heck out of me and destroys forehand bc of it. Thanks Jason!

      All high level players move the hand through contact on most shots. As the great coaches of Spain say - Mueva la Mano! move the hand through contact. It's not difficult and it's not wristy in the way most coaches incorrectly describe it. American coaches are way behind the curve and it shows

      @@jamesking6030 guess Rune is not considered high level by your standards

    Is it just me or does Rune’s hitting arm stay lower during the unit turn/takeback than a lot of other players? Not a lot of C shape (high to low to high) going on. More of just back/low to high.

    • @2MinuteTennis
      @2MinuteTennis  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes his turn is quite low. Would love to see hit turn slightly higher. Thanks!

      This technique is great for coaches to use when teaching proper techniques. The lower elbow and simplified take back make for easier timing and coordination. So many coaches incorrectly teach an elevated elbow to younger players but that requires a lot of shoulder strength and therefore creates a very disruptive coordination and timing issue especially with younger players and females who are typically stronger around the hips which is why they tend to swing behind the body to create the necessary space. As some players develop stronger shoulders i.e Djokovic, Fed, Dogopolov etc and especially developed males and some females the elbow can be elevated at about 13-15 yrs old to create more space on the outside. Remember -The process is not the end result.

    Okay, this tennis backhand tutorial is great and all, but I tried it and ended up hitting the ball into a different zip code! Time to call NASA, I'm serving for space exploration now! 🚀🎾 😄

    Nice video. I wonder if someone do one handed-back hand, if there is any benefit to convert to two handed-back hand?

      i've recently changed to two Handed-backhand, because i got a lot of injuries(especially on elbow). It has only been 2 weeks, but for me it's really comfort...

    On the backhand he is loading onto his left leg and stepping onto his right as he rotates his body. He is not sitting and lifting as this type of type of method is very disruptive to the kinetic chain and timing.

      Ok thanks James

    • @jamesking6030
      @jamesking6030 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You bet, the main is that if I were to tell my students to sit and lift they could/would/misinterpret and start the swing from a sitting position with weight 50/50 and get stuck making it difficult to rotate the body as there is not much weight or energy to transfer, instead of loading and stabilizing onto the back leg and then transferring onto the front leg as the body rotates creating a nice tempo and rhythm thru the shot
