THANK YOU SOOO MUCH! I'm a new youtuber and I was wondering how I could make my audio sound better for my videos, I was recording my audio on obs the whole time so when I uploaded the video to adobe it was all one thing and I couldn't edit the video or the noise in the background from my fan, but now I can do it! Thank you so much man!!
@mr.Duckyt You should record with OBS (or whatever else you use) and use Audacity at the same time. then while editing you should be able to sync them up pretty easily with no issues
Also if not using words with the letter P, pop filters are still a must to get rid of any other plosives and other sounds where air escapes the mouth at high enough velocities.
Thanks for this mate, I was looking for something like this so I could start my own channel up. Being Mute for most of life my social skills or the ability to express myself vocally is lacking considerably; hoping that I can learn a new skill in video editing whilst I try exposing myself into speaking more regularly to try and get over the anxiety of how unnatural I sound in conversation. Much appreciated.
OK, I'll add to this video. if you're doing game play and yell, processing will not work. in the interest of free, download vst host, and add the default compressor, set the limit on there, and then chain it in audacity, in order to do that in audacity you will need go to where it says audio host, change that to wasapi, then go to recording device, and speaker, the speaker you're using, that will be your interface if you're using one. this will give you even better audio. Note that in the voice over world if you normalize you should always do it at -3db. Of course none of this will work if you do not have a quiet environment, many people go for condenser mics but I would recommend dynamic if your environment isn't like the pros. Yes lets touch on this pop filter, you don't need one, take too pencils attach them together and speak into the pencil, the air from your voice will allow for separation, you can also use the finger method, placing two of your fingers together, and speaking into them. But wait, you're trying to play games and record aren't you?, ok I got you, place your mic to the side of your mouth, this will allow for no popping due to the mic not being in front of you. you can also put the mic below your mouth and aim it up. There's more to discuss but I'll leave you with these few. Just make sure you record something and don't waste time.
And even then, digital limiters and compressors are limited in their usefulness. A proper analog limiter would be best like one built into a decent audio interface. I have a field recorder that I use for recording audio for client work that has a limiter but it;s a digital one so I don;t even bother. Instead I use a recording mode on my recorder that records the audio to 2 different files. One at whatever level I set and the other 6db quieter. If my audio on my main file clips or distorts, I can go to the quitter file and get that distorted section from that track. I use a Tascam DR-40.

How did you make the FX logo zoom in from nothing and bounce to a stop and your namecard swing in and sway to a stop? You didn't use any of the built-in 'Pro' Behaviour / Animations to do those; because they can't do that, even though they're pretty basic and standard MoGraph Animations. A Tutorial on making them would be useful. There probably hasn't been a tutorial on the built-in Animations for good reason: no one would use most of them, they don't combine well, don't have useful parameters to adjust and they don't cover the basics. So 'forget' them and show how to make our own and save as Presets or Composite shots that'd we'd actually want to use.
FXhome, I followed all of this, but you zipped right past the main part, which is playing a video I recorded and talking to Audacity. You did not even have a video player up and running. How do I manage this part? I have VLC Player. So if I play my video with VLC Player, and talk and record myself with Audacity, how do I get the 2 to match up? It would be a wasted effort if the thing I am talking about is 10 seconds ahead of my voice, or 10 seconds behind my voice.
What you can do is time a clap to a moment I the video you are playing. Like when the executive director name pops up. You clap. Now take the video file and the audio file into hitfilm. Now you can cut the audio down and adjust the point when the clap is heard. That should help line it up. Using a camera to get started is better you can time the clap audio to the flesh touching on your palms. Then turn cam off and keep recording as you would. That's what I do for my recording

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions, we can keep this in mind for future tutorials.

How do you link it to your gameplay though
We need two pc one for voiceover and one for the video?????????????
What do you use to record your voice?
A mic
@@Si1tero no I mean what app or something
How do you sync your audio to your gameplay?
Does it record game chat?
That's what I do for my recording
how do we do a voiceover like IN hitfilm itself?
Audacity doesn’t work for my mic can I just use a different voice recorder
