@@ChicagoItalianpurchased my gransport 5-6 yrs ago from another car enthusiast who had multiple race cars and unique vehicles. Had my car on a few race tracks against more powerful autos and passed most as he had a lot of experience ( the driver not the car adage). I’ve had no issues with the car other than a bad sensor I changed myself and the rear tie rods which couldn’t be adjusted so I purchased a set for 225.00 and my mechanic set up the suspension and alignment. Car has been flawless at 47k miles. I believe it still has the orig clutch as well. I do have a small oil leak at valve cover and will either replace myself or have my guy do it. And lastly the oil pressure sender has been broken since I bought car and have a replacement for it. Not much more to tell other than the cloth inserts on seats were faded to light pink from silver !! So I dyed them to look better but will eventually have them redone in leather if I keep the car. Love the rawness and exclusivity of this car. Future classic in my opinion.
I almost bought one recently but instead bought my third E63 😢, this one with the 6.2. there's not enough garages where I am to repair these amazing cars or I'd loved to have bought one
GranSport is 396 Horsepower. With a tune and exhaust it can be bumped up to 420ish…as I’ve done with mine. Over 180 mph, no turbos and can cruise at autobahn speeds all day.
When they run and when they have a manual, these are great. The Italians are great at designing engines and chassis, not so great at actually building cars. It looks a bit dated but still exotic, and that interior looks fantastic.
'Bespoke' buttons... parts bin, exposed screws? Maybe they were going for that look. Italian cars sound and drive great, but maintenance... as an Alfa Romeo owner, they cost $$$ Great review as always!
yo dont need to put it in neutral everytime you go on a stop, some people do it to save some wear on the clutch but it wont make a difference, my car actually dont like when i do it, better to just let the car downshift itself
You're right! At 4:05 it definitely seems high! About 232F/111C. Usually these cars go up to 208F/98C, then the high speed fans kick on and temps drop back down to 194F/90C. I would definitely recommend the owner checks that his fan thermistor is not burnt out or that his fan relay is working, as these issues can cause the high speed fans to not come on and cause overheating - I had the same issue on my car and fixed it with a new fan thermistor and reseating and cleaning the relay.
The 05 and 06 gransports were the most reliable compared to 3200 and 4200 according to the forums. I have an 06 and after 8 years have had just fluids and one $500 coolant leak.
Thanks Zach for coming out to review my car!
If anyone has any questions on the car feel free to ask me as well
How bad is the view, particularly around/behind the C-pillars?

What is the stereo head unit/screen you installed? Thanks.
Would you sell it?

I purchased this piece of Italian art for 99k. Had to sell it to Christopher for 25k. Ginny loved that car.
It's going up for auction in Parsippany. You like it so much, buy it again.
It’s a Maserati, and that’s good enough for me. Even with all the transmission failures and quirkiness, I still love these cars!
Daddy DeMuro also with a Maserati today
Yup and it really does look the same 😂
In contrast to old half bald Doug this guy took a seat in the back.
Loved to see it.
That temp is running very hot man 4:07
That headliner is beautiful
John Davis would appreciate the voltage meter and oil pressure gauge.
Beautiful exhaust notes
I have a 93 ford f150 but it has a ouch button stwrt because the ignition failed before i bought the truck
Nice looking car, maintenance nightmare though.

Not true.
@@johns944S2can you list your experience with your ownership of a Maserati please?

I feel like a lot of car people don’t even know these exist. I remember seeing them for sale under $20,000
That’s cuz you gotta put $20-30k into them for maintenance 😂
@@tleoipl37u can, but i’ve had one for 8 years and have had to spend little on it.
Would love a '70 455 Gran Sport!
Also, the Combicorsa transmission is awful. You're totally justified in using the paddles.
The one Doug reviewed was a manual, but it was from the sketchiest dealer in town probably
Why do I think I'm looking at an early 2000's Honda prelude from the rear? Hmmm.
I agree - but it’s a great, fun car to own.
try to get your hands on a 1999 Maserati 3200 GT, at least it looks nice from the back =)

Love the color and interior
The taillights are so pedestrian, like they'd be at home on a regular family sedan.
The best view is from the back, I doubt many will agree with you, but meh... 🤷♂️
I remember this car from Test Drive Unlimited
Front reminds me of a 2001 Chrysler 300M and rear taillights look like a 2009 Ford fusion I.m.o.

This vehicle on the front end looks like a Chevrolet Camaro on the front and a mid 90’s Honda Civic on the back
Maserati Ripping off the catfish Camaro was definitely a choice.
maybe im really high...but doesnt that rear end...tail lights specifically and overall shape look like the 94 prelude a little bit....idk...

It is not a "Marzariti"
Leave the R out and you will have it correct
(Same for Mazdo too)

Welp. According to the gauge, it’s overheating…. Typical Maserati
Am I the only one that noticed it’s overheating pretty badly..?

lol The engine resembles a mud dauber nest.
These were bad cars and built very poorly.
Not really, owned mine since 2007, have you owned one????
