Thank you so much for this one. I love all your walking films, made all the better with your dogs along, and particularly enjoyed this one which reminded me so much of happy times when I lived in Sennen (at the Lands End end of the village) and worked at Porthcurno. I used to frequent all the nearby coastal routes. Please do keep sharing your walks with us.

Thank you for another lovely walk video. My husband and I walked from Land's End to Sennen several years ago so it was lovely to be reminded of that day. We caught the Coaster bus from St Ives (I think), got off at LE and then caught the one from Sennen to get back to St Ives. With a bus pass (yes we're old enough 😄) there's no parking to worry about.

It was always his favourite thing to do! They are both simply beautiful.🤎💛 Thoroughly enjoyed this walk you two. Breathtaking scenery & barely a soul in sight. What more could you want on a bracing November day. Loved it x J x

So nice to see you back walking the coast path with your adorable dogs, the scenery is stunning and so atmospheric, have really missed these walking videos which i know are not so viable for you but so good to see you go back to this format now and again as and when you are able to do so, we were going to do this very walk this year but never got round to it somehow, definitely one for us when we hopefully return to Cornwall next summer, there is nowhere else in Britain that has the atmosphere of the Cornish coastline , especially the most southerly parts, a joy to watch !

Great video, as always. I've run the route that you've walked. The family stayed in Seaview Caravan Park in 1998. I ran from the Caravan park, into Sennen and back via the coastal path, Lands End and the A30. Some great runs round there. Sennen to The Minack is really nice too.

So nice to see you out with the dogs 😊 We walked there some years ago. This summer we stayed some nights in Sennen Rise Guesthouse (which is brilliant) and walked one of the days from there the inland path to Nanjizal and further on the coastsl path to Porthgwarra. I am so intrigued by the cliffs and rocks over a large part of West Penwith. They look like they are put together and stacked by an artist. I am also impressed by your 10 minute drawing, Sarah 🥰 Great story about the horse. Regarding the Irish Lady the story goes like this:
"It is told that Irish seamen shipwrecked on the rock and all perished save a woman who clung to the rock while the tumultuous seas prevented those watching from saving her. She died and slipped into the sea and sailors and fishermen have reported seeing a female with a rose in her mouth sitting on the rock during high winds and seas".
Thank you for this lovely video 🥰 Torunn.

Thank you Sarah and Andrew for taking us on a trip down memory lane, my wife and I are now 68 years young and we would probably struggle to walk along that coastal path, i remember that shipwreck and I had a little boat trip to the ship and I brought the Video , and yes there is a video on TH-cam about it. Its my favorite walk along with the walk from The Lizard to Kynace Cove, once again many thanks xx

What a lovely video! Thank You for sharing👍
We have been fortunate enough to have spent some holiday time at "Tinker Taylor" with the last visit a few weeks back in September.
Sennen Cove and it's surroundings are utterly, utterly beautiful and that walk to Lands End and back is amazing. The more inland route on the way back just shows how wonderfully different the landscape and vistas can be between the coast and ever so slightly inland.
And finally, how cute are your lil Doggos!!!

  • @NeilUpfold

You may surprised to hear than Lands End is not the most westerly point on the UK mainland. That honour belongs to a place called Corrachadh Mòr on the Ardnamuchan peninsular, a strip of land in Scotland just above the Isle of Mull. It's about 1km south of the Adrnamurchan lighthouse and is about half a degree further west than Lands End. Also the fishing port of Mallaig is further West than Lands End by a small fraction of a degree.
We spent many of our summer holidays in the Penwith area of Cornwall, we used to camp at Kelynack and spent many a day on the beach at Sennen. We also enjoyed walking around the mine ruins at Bottalack and watching the sunsets from there or at Cape Cornwall.
Loved the video, it brought back many happy memories from when our kids were young.

Beautiful walk and so scenic. Glad you were blessed with good weather...makes all the difference on a cliff-top walk! I went 'face hunting' there few years back, and think I found one or two. Trouble is, after a while staring at big boulders, you begin to see all sorts of faces (or was the coffee in my flask too strong?). Just loved seeing doggies so happy tearing around on the beach, and doggie senior has lost none of his digging prowess! It was so funny when they investigated Paddington Bear :)

THANK YOU!!! This was always my favorite walk! We always stopped by the RSPB hut/hide up near the hotel for the view, local bird information and bird viewing, and a chat with the RSPB people, but it looks like there's nothing happening there at this time of year. I wonder if you can still at least go in and watch the birds on your own? We also loved the gorgeous views if you continue walking a little ways past Land's End.

An annual subscription to the National Trust is soon covered by saved parking charges. Alternatively, there are still roads in Camborne where you can park for free and if you step it out, Sennen and Land's End is a nice day's outing. The last I heard, parking at Hell's Mouth was still free. If you are in the know, there are still some wheezes that can be pulled but the Bolsheviks are making it impossible to do anything in Cornwall.
I now live in East Dorset 3 miles west of Ringwood. You can park on miles of residential roads around me for free and for as long as you like. There is a car park for the "country park" in Ringwood Forest. They charge an arm and a leg to park in the car park. Park near me for free and you can be in the forest in less than 200 yards.
It is a bit of a long walk into Ringwood and all-day parking in Ringwood is £20 and the roads are plastered with yellow lines. In October, we wanted a day in London using National Express from and back to Ringwood (the nearest railway stations ... Bournemouth and Brockenhurst are 14 miles away ... and PARKING CHARGES). Our coach leaving Ringwood at 5.55 a.m. and getting back close to midnight would require all day parking so £20 if we didn't want to walk 3 miles each way ...... BUT .... about a mile out of Ringwood, there is a car park for a long distance walking trail and it is free, and other than some afternoons in late July/early August, the car park is three-quarters empty. Bearing in mind the walking in London ... Victoia through Hyde Patk, tube Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road (standing) and then several miles in the British Museum, then hunting for something to eat on our way back to the National Gallery for the Van Gogh exhibition, up the Mall, past Buckingham Palace front garden and back to Victoria, a mile walk at each end in and out of Ringwood to save 20 quid was nothing.
I am back in deepest Slovakia again for the Winter (the daylight hours are longer and brighter in the Winter than in Britain and electricity is only 10 pence per kWh). Here, parking is free almost everywhere including nearly all railway stations and all hospitals. When I explain about parking charges at our hospitals, Slovaks are absolutely horrified. Even in Bratislava, the capital, on-street parking is only charged 8 a.m. - 4.p.m. Monday to Friday. Even though I am English, because I am retired, I have free travel on Slovak trains. I could get a free pass for the buses as well but I can't be bothered. From our village to the local town is 3 miles and the bus fare is 30 Eurocents (22 pence) on very comfortable buses. If we are shopping, we always drive anyway.
Všetko najlepšie (All that is best).

New subscriber here 👋 Really enjoyed your video. I was really interested to hear that the “gossipy” videos do better than the walks. I recently made some short films around Cornwall including a walk from Sennen to Land’s End too and it did terribly 😅 Well done on your pitching yours right. Absolutely loved watching and at six months in I can see I have a lot to learn 😅 We are based in Bristol and are definitely taking another holiday or two in Cornwall next year. Love visiting. Next time we will look out for the face. Had no idea about that! Very cool. That ten minute sketch you did was fantastic too. Just binge watched a few episodes and looking forward to seeing more 😊

I always loved your walk videos and it's great to see you doing that again - I love your other videos too mind! From what I've gathered, Dr Johnson's Head is the name of the headland itself, that the hotel and 1st & Last House are situated on. Dr Syntax's Head is the headland to the south of that. The rock formation in the old photo and drawing is also called Dr Johnson's OR Dr Syntax's head (more commonly Syntax it seems) - so a bit of confusion there. Back in the '70s Land's End was all open and I remember going down to look for Dr Syntax, which I'm pretty sure was down among the pillars of granite below the 1st & Last House - which was apparently built in the late 1800s and not to be confused with the 1st & Last Inn in Sennen. The Land's End Hotel was apparently built in 1860 as a temperance hotel - presumably so guests didn't get drunk & tried to ride their horses down the cliffs! Many thanks for the brilliant video as always.

I went to Cornwall and to lands end many years ago before I had children. In August last year I went for a few days with my eldest daughter and was shocked to see that you had to pay to have you photo taken at the famous sign post. You couldn’t just stroll up and take your own photos any more

Thankyou. Always enjoy your walks paticularly with your history and sometimes mystery connections. The head you did find seemed to have a Rick Astley look to it i felt.😊

Hello, I’m the chap that recomended the JT Bight book, a week at the Lands End. I have a foldout Land’s End Panorama that I bought on Saturday 12th August 1978 for 15p. I’m not sure if they still sell it at Lands End but they did for many decades. As the name implies it is a Panorama looking out across the Lands End area from left to right, idetifying all the main things you can see from that point. The Veiw point is from behind the peel rocks and not from the Hotel, far left is the Hotel and far right is Cape Cornwall. I have no idea why they did this accept it may take in more interesting points this way. It shows where Dr Sintax’s head is, stating that its sits uncomfortably on a granite pillow. It identifies the Isles of Scilly, the rocks around the Longships light and the mines and features around Cape Cornwall. There is a description describing events as well as the places on show. There is also a things to do list and a piece about the veiw at night. At that time was one other publication in the series and they planned seven more. I don’t know if they were ever printed I have never seen the others. If you want a photo copy of it let me know and I will get one to you somehow.

Wonderful video. My husband and I have been wanting to do this walk for years but were unsure what it was like and if it was within our capabilities. However, after seeing this will definitely be giving it a go next time we are down. Thank you so much for such a helpful video. xxx❤

It is a relatively easy part of the coast. The hardest section is leaving Sennen but at least that is when you are fresh! Sarah :)

I moved to Cornwall 12 and bit years ago, my holidays with our 3 kid's as they grew up was to St Ives, a lovely place then. I live at Cape Cornwall now and I've walked many time's on the coast path and roads, lanes and bridal paths. Lands End is pretty horrendous and not what you expect from a beautiful part of our island. Money 💰 and more money 💰. I'm half way through your video and I know what going to happen. By the rule I've subscribed and as a retired male I've plenty of time to watch and listen and enjoy people like yourselves. Good luck and with regard to your pooches "I LIKE DOGS" ⭐and maybe⭐ 3 PEOPLE....today it's 2, you and and you're man. I'm looking for number 3 😂😂😂😅
