Well done Sarah and Andrew, another lovely video showing the beauty of Cornwall. My wife and I visited Mousehole in 1982 and remember the bus we travelled on from Penzance trying to get back out of Mousehole being held up by tourist cars, the bus driver just pulled on his hand brake and said sort yourselves out, because he could not reverse back down the hill. As I remember you could hardly get a cigarette paper between the buses wing mirrors and the houses. We also walked to Lamorna and both being fair skin got sun burnt on one side of our faces only, had some scrumpy in the Lamorna Wink pub and got the bus back to Penzance, happy days.
Wonderful memory and sensible bus driver! I think the visitors have trouble grasping that the traffic moves in both directions and its not a single track road! And cars are getting so wide these days - fine for motorways but not right for down 'ere! Sarah :)
Beautiful Mousehole! Lovely video and I really appreciate that you give us all the historical facts. It makes it even more enjoyable to watch.👍😊🥰 Torunn.

Lovely video of Mousehole, my favourite of all of Cornwall's quaint fishing villages. I discovered "Nigel" many years ago, weirdest name for a house! In 1973 I spent my summer vacation as a student sleeping rough in West Penwith and exploring the area. My favourite place to sleep was a granite rock a few hundred yards to the west of Mousehole near the big cave which possibly gave Mousehole its name. (It used to be called "The Mousehole" on OS maps).
We have done several walks around Mousehole and Paul there is a couple of foot paths linking the villages across fields and farm yard no need to walk up the road also from Paul there is a foot path next Penlee Quarry take you back to Mousehole great video and history lesson thank you 👌😉👍

Super fun meander with you two! What a charming town, with all of the itty-bitty lanes, stone cottages, surprise pocket gardens, legends, and interesting history. It looks like the ancient harbor wall with the wood slats would go a long way to protecting the boats during storms. Loved the great tidbits about the Spanish attack, the swords in the church, and the fascinating Dolly. I learn so much on every walk. I ended up with nettles in my garden (they came with a truckload of free horse manure from a relative's farm). I've been stung through gloves, so I don't blame you for retreating from the field walk. Maybe you can try again in fall or winter. As far as I'm concerned, ice cream is a good balm for many an ill. Cheers! :)
What a beautiful colourful quaint village with lots of history, it has always intrigued me as to know how Mousehole got its name! some good theories, I agree with Andrew rabbits and pasties 🥴 my reaction to the stargazy pie was much the same🥴 good old Dolly sounds like a friend you would want to keep!
