    I always love, when the engines goes to the go-around mode some minutes before landing.

    Love how the shutter rate seems to nearly freeze the props. Always a mesmerizing effect.

      Honestly, I was thinking the same thing. It's quite hypnotic

      This is the perfect camera angle for the Dash 8. IMO, of course. Thanks for watching my friend!

    I enjoy your videos. Would be nice to see shots of the terminal buildings on arrival.

      I do show the terminals, in every full flight video. Which the link for is the first thing listed in this description. I don't show that stuff in these takeoff and landing videos as the point of these individual takeoff and landing videos is to get straight to the point. Which is the takeoff or landing 😂. But every video that starts with [4K] - Full Flight shows the terminal on both ends of the flight.

    WOWOWOW!!! Great views!!! I've done JNU over to GST where you go right over that mountain range down into GST. Well, no jet lag on this flight!
    I watched today's episode of The Bold And The Beautiful where they're all back in LA from their trip n Rome. None of them had a trace of jet lag after doing a 12-hour flight and gaining 9 hours! Perhaps the true way to cope with jet lag is to become a soap opera character. :)
    Anyhow, another fine video... scenery was quintessentially Alaska. One of these days, you're going to need to go up to the Brooks Range. Only 1% of people who visit AK make it here. You can stay in Bettles, where they'll be very happy to accommodate you and you can do their day trip up to Anaktuvak Pass. Both places are above the Arctic Circle.
    One of my friends did a visit here and she found it a great big thrill. I still have the report that she wrote on her trip. She said the big challenge was to cope with all of the mosquitoes and the 24 hours of daylight.
    Once the staff at Bettles Lodge learns who you are, they'll treat you like royalty - literally. I met them back in 2000 (in Seattle) so I know they're good people who will show you as much as you want to see of the northern AK wilderness. Remember that everything operates on bush time up there, no formal times or clocks.
    The Brook Range is actually part of the Rocky Mountain Range and also part of the Continental Divide, the same one that runs thru the Colorado Rockies. When I flew from IAD over to NRT, we went over northern AK and I had very good views of the Brooks Range and you could see how much they looked like The Rockies and how different they looked from the other mountains ranges in AK.

      Sounds like some stuff that's right up my alley. As we discussed before, I absolutely love Alaska. However... The videos never perform very well. I don't know why... Look at this thumbnail. As an aviation enthusiast I'd want to click on that. This video however, is currently the worst performing video I've posted all month. So, for whatever reason, people just don't click on the Alaska stuff, which blows my mind! It makes it difficult to recoup any of my investment.

      @@sla31 I've sent countless people on tours and cruises up in AK, so I'm very familiar with it. Also, AK is part of the Northwest, which is my back yard.
      People either like AK or they don't. It's always been that way and has always been a challenge to market as a place to visit.
      Also, it goes in a cycle where you'll have a few years where a whole bunch of people want to go up there and then, after they've all gone there, the tourism drops off markedly until tour operators and cruise companies are able to fish up a new round of people who want to go.
      One very important strategy is going to markets outside the US, like over in Europe, Australia, the Asian Pacific nations and with China now a lot more open, there are a whole slew of Chinese folks who want to travel.
      It's even harder to market the Brooks Range. Only 1% of people who visit AK ever go there. It's very expensive to go there, and it's more wilderness and remote than what most people want.
      When I flew from IAD over to NRT, I was able to see Denali Mountain 125 miles to the south. Jeez!! I thought that Rainier was big! It really stands out.

    Great fly! Have you heard that European company is looking to build a hypersonic passenger aircraft claiming that will able to fly New York to London in 90 minutes? What do you think? Also, you're guys are under level 3 enhanced risk out of 5 for 75+ mph wind gust and some large hail along with other strong severe storm. So if you're at home right now, it is time to take cover along with your family and stay away from windows. Good luck and stay safe.

    • @sla31
      @sla31  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I saw that about the hypersonic aircraft. Here's what I think about that. I will never happen. Just like every other aircraft proposed like it before. And we actually never even got a drop of rain last night. Definitely nothing severe. Missed us completely.

    Homer? Where most of the "Deadliest Catch" People come from ?

    • @sla31
      @sla31  ปีที่แล้ว

      I know fishing is a big industry in Homer. I'm not sure if this is where most of those guys come from. I know it's not where their boats port, but that doesn't mean they aren't from there.

      Dutch Harbor aka Unalaska is where I think most of their voyages start.
