    About russian keyboard layout. Most PCs in Ukraine have both russian and Ukrainian keyboard layouts for because we usually type in russian on internet and for documents use Ukrainian. Same goes for other countries like Kazakhstan. Targeting on "this PC has russian layout" is dumb because you will hit a lot of post ussr countries too.

    I heard a guy talking about this on a train. His jammer was in his briefcase & he 'allowed' passengers 10 minutes to ring their families that they were on the way home .. & then switched them all off for a quiet journey. Yes, highly illegal & so dangerous in an emergency. At a security show in Birmingham, years ago now, Korean dealers had lots of these jammers confiscated from their stalls.

      @ContradictoryCrow Not only cell phones. I had an issue with my GPS totally failing on one trip & I suspect that a passenger, stupidly anti-GPS, was using a jammer to cause me a problem, making some idiotic point. He will never travel with me again & the problem doesn't arise in the same way. However .. Do know that some truck drivers use GPS jammers to foil trackers placed in the vehicles by their employers. If I drive by one of them my GPS can misbehave while we are in range.

    GPS jammer wouldn't be too difficult. You would have to jam multiple frequencies but they're extremely low energy frequencies. It's one of the reasons why GPS guided munitions also have a inertial guidance package built into them.

    • @hockdudu
      @hockdudu 2 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @@JohnRodriguesPhotographer The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't.
      In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was.
      The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.

    Peoples use GPS jammer mostly on car rental. By jamming the location of the car, you can go some place your rental contract does not allow. For example, some contract specify you can't cross inter-state line without paying an extra. It's also use on rental car to hide where you go. That way if the rental company get a warrant to show where was the car, they can't give a GPS tracking.

    yeah, a jammer is not really a good idea to take down a single wifi network since it has a chance to disturb other networks, the better option in my opinion is a wifi deauther since it's more targeted to a network and can also deauth certain devices from a network so not all devices get effected, might take a bit more time to understand some technical sides like wifi security, but it's definitely better than a chance of jail time or a big fine, but yeah, i doubt the dad has a good understanding of what he was doing

    A similar thing happened to a cable company in the US. Tl;dr a woman was able to jam a towns internet and tv service with just a hairdryer.
    Every night around 2am a town would lose internet and TV service due to a pass ingress leak in the network. Ingress is the term used by cable companies to describe electro interference entering the network. Unfortunately every time they sent a technician to investigate the issue would stop. One day a master technician decided to stay at the headend and watch the network until he was able to pinpoint the problem to a street in a neighborhood. From there they check every utility pole until they came across a house with the lights on and a higher than normal amount of ingress coming from the home. They made contact with the home owner and discovered inside the home that there was a disconnected coax cable inside of a bathroom and a hairdryer that was used every day at 2am was causing the interference with its electric motor.

    One NodeJS module was published with Anti-Russian Protestware, and the author who created, and also owner recieved heavy backlash for adding this malicious code to their NodeJS module as a lot of companies and organisations were at risk of losing all their data collection of this protestware malware they thought would be a good idea. Everybody who used this NodeJS module essentially locked their current version of this module to their current existing versions without downloading the new code with this protestware in it.

    Hypixel, the most popular Minecraft Server Network, got all of its servers and websites taken down for a few hours this morning.
    You were unable to join all servers, and all websites were displaying a cheap crypto scam with "Hypixel needing money because their game "Hytale" doesn't earn money from the publisher anymore".
    The websites also redirected you to a TH-cam Video after a few seconds.

    ProtestWare is vandalism. I hope everyone that does it gets at the very least a hefty fine. MentalOutlaw brought up a good point about sanctions, in that they mostly affect the civilians and no one else. On top of that, I'm fairly certain that confiscating the property of foreign nationals based solely on what country they're from is breaking the law, possibly even unconstitutional.
