A single character, who had more high quality fighting moments, interesting combat actions and counters and all of that good stuff in how he fought, that you will find in every character in most other series. One of the best examples of how to make a high powered character that isn't just overpoweringly brute forced strong or tough that just hammers back and forth and tends to get boring to watch. One who is strong yes, but not that strong, it's his skill, reaction speed, ability to react at a moments notice and counter the enemies action, come up with a way to exploit a weakness, all at a moments notice that makes him strong and oh so enjoyable to watch. Every big battle he uses multiple interesting actions to counter, evade, exploit an enemies weakness, or otherwise win through a fight. And they almost never repeat throughout all of his battles with so many people. It gives him that sense of superiority, because he's not just someone with one or two tricks that are their trump card's, he's the nautural genius at fighting that will will be able to counter every situation somehow using his limited and relatively simple toolset. And that's the type of person you can't just come up with some obvious counter ability or strategy for like is how they beat 90% of "strong" enemies in most shows, that or by just leveling up, going supersayan, or some other even worse method of that wasn't my final form now your same exact punch or attack just doesn't hurt me stuff. Though truly excellent as he is, it's also not easy to pull off, you need a great team of creative people to figure out how the person fights, how they move, how they can come up with a counter to each situation that's unique, but still matches the character and makes sense and doesn't feel like they're just BSing you to make him be capable/smart/skilled for the story. And then after nailing that, you need to animate it, and do it justice. Good quality clear visuals, lots of unique actions requiring careful and unique frames drawn by the artists or animated by animators if going 3D, and for so many moments for that character you arguably need to also have an opponent that's at a similar quality level meaning the fights are very time consuming to make good, and thus relatively expensive. You need a good budget, and the right team to pull this off.
i imagine a room full of people one minute and then a room of lifeless corpses with bits of bones and limbs scattered across the room and Bradley is just standing there in the middle of it all with a disappointed look on his face
It was right of them in terms of storyline to never cross paths because at the end of the day Ed and Al were still kids, and King Bradley wasted even adults like Mustang and Greed so easily. Ed and Al were the protagonists but they were not the strongest fighters on the side of good, and Scar had more of a beef with him than they did.
King Bradley is my hero. He was not evil....just cold, angry, and completely committed to his duty above all else. I guess that makes him a little evil. Okay ,he's evil, but still, I think he's awesome.
If Wrath had the regen and super strength/speed of the others he would be absolutely unstoppable. Hell, if he were in his prime he definitely would have massacred the heros. Even as is I'd say he could take any of the other homunculus in battle.

Perhaps God not responding to every call from people to smite someone is not a particularly valid way of disproving Him?

He's the Strongest in terms of Combat and Defense. The Homunculi got defeated as they have, because they got careless due to them being immortal. Bradley, aside from having trained in Combat all of his life and reaching peak Superhuman levels of fitness, knows he's still just a Human, and one good hit will put him down for good, so he doesn't take fighting for granted.
