Eye-opening discussion of our current state of involuntary servitude to big-tech profit creation and, thus, our vulnerability to big government surveillance and control, This was the best use of 49 minutes of my time.

I felt Camille was skirting along a very thin line, being diplomatic to say the least, when we may quite easily be faced with the threat of mass extinction, given the AI-generated genocide of Gaza. The surveillance which enabled this, coupled with AI, shows us just how disastrous this unchecked, ungoverned, and under-philosophized technology has become for humans. We are in the midst of a rapidly accelerating decline in human rights and our governments seemed poised to join rather than abate this disturbing trend. In short, fear sells. Hype sells. And the oligarchs who own the means of communication are, it seems, quite happy to censor speech, militarize data and militarize politics, even getting taxpayers to pay for their own demise. This is not the singularity promised. This is not a social benefit. It resembles fascism most of all.
This series is called the AI series. However, it is not about educating people about AI, just mainly about the fears of AI. What we need is people to be more engaged and to use it. Good people using AI is the only way that the AI field will be leveled. I don't expect Google or Facebook to change into a non-profit.
The idea being pushed here is that problem with AI isn’t that it ushers in mass surveillance and authoritarianism, but that it isn’t woke enough, and should be used to push socialism. What a silly, low-quality discussion
Not the dark side, the pale side of AI is more appropriate! I'm tired of the structural racism in the "dark metaphor"... Does dark mean bad in your language? That is racist! Tired of the dark metaphor! Dark does not equal bad. Stop the racist language!
You are ignorant. Dark is a metaphor for the unknown and is not meant to be racist. For example, people fear the dark because they fear the unknown. You are in the dark (because you are not enlightened) with your ignorance. I would rather live in the light than in darkness. Not everything is racist.
I am so glad she exists and that she has a platform.
She was on a panel at the world economic forum yesterday. She was the only one talking sense. You should definitely look it up

This is the most intelligent conversation about AI that I have heard. I really appreciate this content so valuable.
I can't stop listening to Meredith!!!
Really refreshing talk. :) Thanks. Like to see such a brilliant mind seeing the whole picture.
I doubt it. Just look at the way they ended the show. Very provocative and unthouhtful.
She speaks in Dune-esque sentences. Such clarity and conviction. I'm sure she is somewhere on the spectrum, but I am fascinated.
This is SUCH a lucid conversation explaining so much about a crucial technology?
Fascinating series - thank you 🙏
Brilliant discussion on a life-changing technology in your lives. This side of AI is often forgotten.
Thanks for posting

I am really more interested in surveillance advertising than ai
Limited liability was considered a sin and caused a moral outrage in the church upon inception in Europe 400 years ago (Piketty, 2014)
Change the head of department and the way authority of power is ruled by and accountable correctly

Yes, stop the Big Tech racism. Look at the Gemini fiasco, racism against white images !!!
