Alam mo yun, yung everyone knows it's been decided when Sheryn finished her song and everyone is expecting that she'll win it but by chance, in that particular time and day stars were aligned and fate was turned in favor of Eric. To overshadow such a great performance from Sheryn the only possible explaination I can come up with is I think God allowed him to win on that day. Up until now it's still a magical moment to me. Sheryn was solid all throughout the competition, but the grand finals was Erik’s night. Though my heart was bleeding with Sheryn losing, Erik gave a solid performance to defeat her just one time . . . the most important time.
Sheryn is far better from Eric when it comes to voice during the competition. But Eric got the title. I believed it’s just a matter of song choice. Eric did a great job for choosing the song because the listeners, even me got a goosebumps as I watched him performing. And that’s lacking with Sheryn.

Watching the competition many many years ago on TV, I thought Erik was the better singer. But watching both performances now, I realized that Sheryn was amazing during the finals and sang a big song. Back then I thought she sang a very easy song. I rooted for Erik.
Sheryn was already prepared to accept the grand prize. I couldn't forget the shock on her face when Erik was called. This is why the choice of song is very important. Even though she sang this big song perfectly, the end part was going down slow; and we know the belting at the end part concludes the winners. Meanwhile, Erik's song "This is the Moment" hypnotized everyone that it was indeed his moment to win.
I couldn't agree more. Sheryn introduced a "new song" to the mass. Though the delivery was perfect, but since most of the audience were not familiar of the song, the reception was different hence the conviction was highly affected. Now that she already introduced the song to the Filipinos, watching this again is now a different experience. Now it gets through the soul, and only now I realized that she really indeed interpreted it perfectly. But after all, she's the only 2nd placer whose song is definitely remembered. And that's remarkable!

Of course Erik deserves his win but let’s be honest one of the main reason why Erik won was his marketability, he is young and handsome and has talent as well, they could serve him on a silver platter to the public and they would eat him up. Sheryn on the other hand needs to stand out from the rest of other biriteras that has emerged throughout the years, which will be easy since she has a distinct vocal tone but I guess they weren’t willing to take that risk. But of course like I said Erik deserves his win and they are both happy and contented with their lives and that’s what matters.

In terms of consistency sya talaga yung every week nangingibabaw ang obviously sya talaga ang mananalo, but Eric’s song was appropriate and relative for the finale. Unlike Sheryn’s song. Though Sheryns performance was superb and awesome, it was Eric that delivered and more na may ‘’ it’’ factor. But it was a tough competition☺️.

I was elementary during the grand finals and my vote was for Sheryn. Now I realized after rewatching it that Erik really deserve it. In my observation, Sheryn sang like its her own. She impressively hit the notes but you felt nothing after while Erik sang it through his heart. Like every words will give you a goosebumps and its like you already feel his victory or in short Erik engage his audience through his singing.

Watching the competition many many years ago on TV, I thought Erik was the better singer. But watching both performances now, I realized that Sheryn was amazing during the finals and sang a big song. Back then I thought she sang a very easy song. I rooted for Erik.

She sang a hard song but wasn't able to convey emotions through her singing. She's a technical singer but the emotions are nowhere to be found.
Technicalities wise, mas magaling si sheryn pero yung performance na mararamdaman mo, kay erik yon.
Sheryn was already prepared to accept the grand prize. I couldn't forget the shock on her face when Erik was called. This is why the choice of song is very important. Even though she sang this big song perfectly, the end part was going down slow; and we know the belting at the end part concludes the winners. Meanwhile, Erik's song "This is the Moment" hypnotized everyone that it was indeed his moment to win.

I couldn't agree more. Sheryn introduced a "new song" to the mass. Though the delivery was perfect, but since most of the audience were not familiar of the song, the reception was different hence the conviction was highly affected. Now that she already introduced the song to the Filipinos, watching this again is now a different experience. Now it gets through the soul, and only now I realized that she really indeed interpreted it perfectly. But after all, she's the only 2nd placer whose song is definitely remembered. And that's remarkable!

Of course Erik deserves his win but let’s be honest one of the main reason why Erik won was his marketability, he is young and handsome and has talent as well, they could serve him on a silver platter to the public and they would eat him up. Sheryn on the other hand needs to stand out from the rest of other biriteras that has emerged throughout the years, which will be easy since she has a distinct vocal tone but I guess they weren’t willing to take that risk.
But of course like I said Erik deserves his win and they are both happy and contented with their lives and that’s what matters.

In terms of consistency sya talaga yung every week nangingibabaw ang obviously sya talaga ang mananalo, but Eric’s song was appropriate and relative for the finale. Unlike Sheryn’s song. Though Sheryns performance was superb and awesome, it was Eric that delivered and more na may ‘’ it’’ factor. But it was a tough competition☺️.

I was elementary during the grand finals and my vote was for Sheryn. Now I realized after rewatching it that Erik really deserve it. In my observation, Sheryn sang like its her own. She impressively hit the notes but you felt nothing after while Erik sang it through his heart. Like every words will give you a goosebumps and its like you already feel his victory or in short Erik engage his audience through his singing.
