At a certain point of completion all shipyard employees were removed from the vessel and Hughes Aircraft and Navy personnel took over and armed guards stationed on the gangways! Have no idea what the were listening for but one of the engineers said that from the Gulf of Mexico they could hear a small whale fart in Australia!!
Where I work me and another guy just finished rebuilding a 3412 and have another to start soon and in a few years or so unless it fails we have a 3516 that runs an aggregate plant and it’s huge

@@davidpopowicz7689 it is indeed, but like I said it's similar in principle but a completely different way of functionality, the AC alternator will react to the application of load by the voltage dipping at the terminals simultaneously.
The battery most likely isn't being used. Everything is most likely running off the alternator. The engine is most likely keeping the battery charged up to ensure it can start next time

Can you tell me a little more about it, is my calculation accurate?
It is so cool how it takes sudden load increase. Just fuel up heavily without any anti-smoke s*it and get more boost! Love it!

How do you create that kind of load on a generator?
It's a little bit similar to how clutch works, there's a special kind of a flywheel and clutch installed between the engine and the genset. 😊

If it burns 90 to 100 gallons a hr that would be 2160 to 2400 gallons a day times how ever much off road diesel is
