What a MONSTEROUS aria, and how he CONQUERS it. Masterfully sung. This is with Concerto Köln. His studio recording with John Eliot Gardiner is TRULY breathtaking. Even though Tamerlano is the title role, being a cruel and unsympathetic character, it is NOT the Primo Uomo of the opera: it is Andronico that Senesino sang. However, in the JEG recording, Derek Lee Ragin claimed the title role and domiated opera as the primo uomo. Bravo!
