- In this video, I go over the basics on how to play softball. I demonstrate how to throw, and catch. I give you tips on how the ball should be cached in different situations, such as ground balls and fly balls.

@@aspynidstrom7443 I turn 14 next month and I'm going to be trying out for softball when I get to highschool, its never too late to start! Although I have prier baseball experience, it was many years ago. I say if you want to start, start!:)

This is only my second year playing softball and I’m trying out for the alliance team (kind of like a travel team) but last year my coaches said to basically just catch the ball and throw it to the pitcher, so this is the first year I’m learning actual plays and rules so this was very helpful with the pitching and where to hold your hands

my dad played baseball and i’m a cheerleader in my sophomore year in highschool, dad asks me every year if i want to play one of mt cheer friends are doing and some of my friends do it, thought i should try somthing new and i made my dad teach me how to catch and stuff, thought it was fun so now i’m trying out tm

I know u most have done well. I hope you in a team now and if you aren’t there is always a next time. You can always talk to school coach and ask if you can atleast practice with them in order to get some practice in.

I haven’t played sports in a year or so and they last thing I played was cheerleading and I’m the type to get influenced a lot and I’ve convinced my parents my buy me like 3 things the past year for sports and I lost influence on all of them so I’m planning to play softball or learn before I ask my parents to put me on a team. Hopefully I keep the inspiration of it going for atleast a year or two :)
Hey if you want it go for it! I know to keep me motivated and inspired I watch video and motivational videos and it definitely helps although I doubt you would need it, Softball is a very fun sports and you make new friends/ team that helps you stay on top of it ! Goodluck

This is so helpful I’m gonna join softball in January and my friends gonna be playing too (if we get on the same team then yayyy) and her mom is coaching so she’s gonna help me get all the supplies and she’s gonna take us to the park to help us train before tryouts 😮😮 (we’re prob not gonna be on the same team if we don’t make it to tryouts 😢)

@@christineotp It's good that you are still starting now I personally was older when I started playing and still got far. it's about how much work and practice you put in. In try outs they want to see you trying your hardest even if you ain't the best because hard work beats talent.

This video was really helpful and I’m so glad I found it. I don’t think I’ll make it but this video made me a bit more confident. Tysm! Also, any tips?
I think you should give yourself some credit, taking your time to look at videos and going out ya way to try something new takes a lot of Guts. I recommend you try your best. Show that you want to learn softball and are willing to work hard to learn it. Just know that if you don’t make it, it does not mean you should not try again. It just means you need more time to learn and practice. I would speak with the coach and even ask if you could stay and watch practices or even participate in them even if you are not part of the team these way you can try out for next year again. You should ask for tips too from the coach. This will show you are going out ya way to be the best. I wish you good luck. i used to play softball when i was 7. i couldn't run until i was 8, i was constantly bullied by not only my teammates but my coaches as well. now several several years later (i can run now lol) ive been inspired to try to pick the ball back up. im considering it for next season. idk we'll see.
Your message brought me so many personal memories. I used to have asthma as kid and I wasn’t allowed to run and play like the other kids. But at age 11 that wasn’t the case and I become the most athlete person. Now u have the opportunity to become a stronger and better person. Just because you started late doesn’t mean will be last , if you put effort, mind and heart u will surpass those who doubted you. Just do it for you 😀I think you should give it a go. You never know till you try

Are softball rules the same as baseball rules? I’m an experienced baseball player, but I’m wondering if any specific rules are different.
Some rules are different but most of them are the same
does your index finger HAVE to be out of the hole because my glove doesn't have a hole for the index finger.

You could look at schools if you attend one, also you could look at community softball leagues. I was in both community is more teaching and fun and school is more serious but also fun
