    Forgot to mention, I run 10 confident sailors for the huge turn speed %, it's pretty great.

    As a full time life skiller that mains bartering and trading, sailing is absolutely worth it if you enjoy the content. It's relaxing and if you do want to put in a lot of effort the silver can be decent. But it will never be anywhere near high end mob grinding if you are only after silver. If you want to sail it is 100% about the fun and experience of doing it.

    Before watching, to answer the title, if youre doing it for the silver, no. If you like sailing, sea content then yes. And i say this as someone working on my 3rd carrack
    Now to watch the video.

      So, anyway other way to make profit by sailing? Since u said it's not worth it for silver :( thanks for the info.

      @@nemnymeria7873 not really. Efficient bartering takes a long time to set up and pay off, almost 2 months to get your Advance Carrack. And you have to build a barter item stockpile, and barter routes can only be refreshed after 4 hours efficiently. Its a huge upfront time and money sink to get it going for pretty average to mediocre results.
      Edit: and sea monster hunting is just not profitable. The only really "valuable" sea content is Vell, and you can just join someones platoon for that

    As a new player, Bartering is a headache. I would just use the seals to get the Epheria Sailboat after 2 months and then upgrade from there. Getting the logs is a waste of time and Market is slow. Bartering is so frustrating with a smaller boat and no one tells you how you should go about it. Do you do all same level go back to deposit? Or do you do a full route with scaling levels, eventually you figure out how you want to do it. Doing sailing dailies SUCK even if you don't do the sea monster killing and take up so much time as a new player with a slower ship. Sometimes the routes suck and you should just refresh rather than wasting a huge amount of time. Starting out with bartering it's hard to decide if you want to stock up on the lower levels as much as possible and go up slowly, or if you just want to go all the way so you can make some silver because it is a huge flipping waste of time. So for the first week or two I'd say, you're wasting this huge amount of time and getting basically nothing out of it. Now that Bartering is 10 for all the lower level trades, it confuses new players on how to actually be decent at bartering. Also, just those 4 nodes, not the connecting ones you need to connect from Velia, is 24CP as a new player even though you get a lot quickly early on, there's other nodes that are way better at getting you started into BDO, but trust me you want those 4 going right away regardless, because it is time gated that you can upgrade those ship parts. They should at LEAST make Chiro's blueprints be processed into Starlight Powder, because Chiro's blueprints are already RNG if you're going to get them or not from those nodes and originally take about 8 hours to complete each excavation. I could go on how awful this system is to newer players getting into the game and want to do anything else along with sailing.

      I haven't played in 5 years but I do remember discovering sailing and bartering and loved it. I loved how if I got bored bartering I can just stop my boat and start fishing off of it. I remember doing some quest chain where you gotta go into some cave and do that quest which is daily lockout of like 5 or 7 days and you get a good ship out of it. I remember it was worth it. I remember using some map somewhere online on bartering routes so I'm sure it's the same now. You grab product a then go sell it at point 2, then get product b and sail to point 3 etc etc until you end your circuit back at a port when you'll have quite a bit of the higher end stuff. I just remember it wasn't 'new player friendly' and it's really only worth it if you enjoy it.

    I saw the tears of the ocean from the ellie event and considered upgrading my ship but I heard sailing sucks and was boring. Surprised to find the video I needed that wasn't 5 years old. Though I came to BDO in hoping for a archeage sailing experience but it doesn't seem as robust. It feels like a giant chore and I don't wanna do it now :C

    Just to clear up confusion. Advanced is the only real clear choice when it comes to upgrading your caravel. offers fantastic and better weight limit and storage capacity compared to balanced. NO one picks balanced and the only people that do only do so either because of lack of information or not doing research. no one will recommend balanced.

    I have a question. Im trying to start bartering. I'm lvl 59, sailing is pro6 and i have an improved epheria sailboat. When i open the barter menu it shows lvl1 to 2 and so fourth. Theres no option to trade goods for lvl1. What am i doing wrong?

    • @benjaminruggieri8539
      @benjaminruggieri8539 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      To start bartering you need to buy first base material to exchange (named Normal in barter schedule menù) for level 1 barter items to trade for next level items untill 5. Once get lvl.5 you can sell them for 7,5 millions each or trade them for crow coins (used for purchase materials or gear for carrack)
