If they start selling tickets and the views go up, so will the salaries.

It funny because the only people hating on Catlin Clark are the current players of the wnba

As an Indiana native, this gets me really excited and for the first time interested in the WNBA. Household names tend to bring more eyeballs in. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Fever break some attendance records this year

It's 🤯 to think that residents of Indiana might be having a problem of getting 🎫🎟️ to a home games of their own team. People across the United States of America want to at least want to go to one game or more. Ladies 🏀 popular. Who ever thought

This Year could Officially become The WNBA's Coming Out Party, Especially with their Deals across Multiple Platforms (Mostly Free OTA Channels), These Games with Clark and Reese could potentially INCREASE Viewership and give the W that Long Awaited Exposure it so Desperately Needed for a Long Time.

as someone who never had any interest in the wnba but who has watched at least some college woman’s basketball I will probably watch a few big matchups and the playoffs now.

As someone who really got involved watching in the early years until NBC lost the contract when the NBA moved in 2002, this is a transcendent time for the sport. I plan to catch as many games as I can. We will see how the season goes.

So she’s already having a huge impact. But the key is can she actually propel the WNBA into having its first ever season with a monetary profit made?

Think it depends on the rest of the league if they support and work with her I think it has a very good chance but if they keep up with the sour grapes it's going to crash and burn, just my opinion.

Indiana vs Chicago would be a fun rivalry. The two best players (Reese, Cardoso) of the teams to beat Clark's Iowa in the last two championship games are now on the same team. Storylines!

Ironically, Las Vegas Aces have won back to back and are talking about dynasty. All their star, Kelsey Plum, do is talk about the salary gap and jersey cut.
CC only talks about is buying tickets. She actually doesn't need a higher salary because what she gets from the 2 sponsorship deal from State Farm and Nike along with her NIL revenue totals around 30 mil per year and climbing. She didn't need to come to declare because she still had 1 year eligibility left, yet she did because Indiana Fever had the #1 overall pick and wanted to stay in an environment that supports basketball.
Plum along with Sue Bird, Breanna Stewart, Britney Griner, and Diana Taurasi continue to complain about salary gap without actually doing anything like talk about buying tickets. None have any sponsorship deals. Now, they all gang up on CC in order "to create drama" but have done nothing over the past 20 years. A Recogning is coming! ROFLMAO. 😂 What about the other Rooks in LA Sparks and Chicago?
It seems only CC actually gets it and avoids creating a rivalry against them. Rivalries only work for players of the same generation. Not between Tim Duncan and Kobe but Bird and Magic Johnson.

This NCAA finals was akin to the Olympics. How many track and field championship games, or gymnastics championships, or swimming championships, did you follow that weren't an Olympic Games? People love to see spectacle, and even with huge names like Usain Bolt, Simone Biles, and Michael Phelps, once the spectacle is over, it's over. This finals had the all time scoring leader -- no doubt she can definitely shoot -- versus an undefeated team. It was high spectacle, but now that it's over...what's left?

Uhhh, Rich...Britney Griner wasnt arrested because she makes so little in the NBA she had to play in Russia, she was arrested because she tried to bring what is an illegal substance into Russia.

I know the WNBA hasn’t been around that long relative to other leagues but there’s not many notable players I can really name off. There’s Lisa Leslie, Breanna Stewart, Britney Griner, Jackie Young (she was actually born in the town I used to live in most of my life), and Ella Delle Donne. Otherwise, I really can’t think of much of anybody else notably good even throughout the league’s history. I bet that many people born on or after 2000 may not even know who Lisa Leslie is.

One player will not change the WBNA. After a few games, the hype will fizzle out and people will watch other sports just like they do now. If Caitlin was dunking on people, that would be a different story.

Unfortunately, the WNBA has no income. Clark can't fix that, or by extension, the league, single-handedly. She needs to make hay while the endorsement/TV income stream shines. Yeah, there'll be enough of the usual hoopla in year 1 to keep her motivated - maybe - but down the road, who knows? It's like sending Ohtani to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos to "save" AA baseball.

I haven't paid attention to college girls BB or the wnba since it's early years when Katie Smith was a Buckeye and if I'm not mistaken the 1 year both the men's and womens teams had deep runs in the tournaments but it's been so long I can't remember exactly anyhow, this is the first time since those days I've really paid any attention to female sports. In all fairness though I don't even watch much NBA or NHL or MLB, I'm a football guy and that takes enough of my free time following 😂😂😂 I'll definitely pay attention to this chics pro career cuzz those deep 3s are insane and I haven't seen that kind of cockiness since Larry Bird and it's just fun to watch when she shoots and knows it's going in before it even gets there lol

Caitlin has no impact without teammates & oppinents. Media is trying to annoint her the messiah of women's hoop, but MJ needed competition, teammates, and coaching before he could get to the Finals. It's amazing how Caitlin John Cena'd everyone, but there was outrage when it was her turn to get it. That turned into a year of race-bait media, and, once Iowa eliminated LSU, it's as if Angel Reese ceased to exist until drafted. It's ridiculous to 💩 on young women collegiate athletes like that, in the media. It was far more intriguing, to me, that, like Cardoso, Caitlin & Angel have competed since AAU. Caitlin entered that game 0-5 lifetime vs Angel, and that 1st win gave her a return to the Final Four. Far better storyline than that "GREAT WHITE HOPE" vs "DIRTY N-word B-word" crap they pulled to hype a woman who's play said it all. Ridiculous.
