You're doing great work here. Since I discovered Heiser 6 years ago, my biblical worldview flipped. Now I can't help but include the Divine Council and all that entails in everything I say. I take what Heiser said literally when he said, "I'm not going to hide people from their bible anymore" and "I want the biblical writers of the Bible living in your head." I really do take this seriously. As a church, we've destroyed the supernatural idea, made it foolish and thereby discredited ourselves from the world. We literally hinder the great commission by backtracking and denying 2/3 of the Bible as many do today. When conversations turn towards God now, I'm going, "hey, want to hear something weird?" And then I launch into these things while showing how it ties directly into the New Testament and ultimately, what The Image of God really is, citing Tim Mackie, Michael Heiser and Carmen Imes and her work. Now, with your videos, I'm adding MORE :-D Thank you for your work. As of right now, I'm downloading all 479 episodes of The Naked Bible Podcast since nothing has been done in a while. I don't want it to be shut down and lose such valuable teaching. There's nothing like it and I felt like I went to college sitting under one of the best professors in the world. I miss Mike Heiser.

There is and was no literal giants. Nephil means a bully, a tyrant in the Hebrew language. There was nephilim in those days and they are still here. Look at these giants (nephilim) tyrants today who oppress the people.

Okay, making notes as I go along, here: 4:32 - Angels "eating” with Abe & Sarah. Seems like an isolated incident, a manifestation of something - Sitting at table & participating in a meal - that had a different connotation in the ancient world. Not really an indication that celestial beings "need" to eat. 4:55 - Would-be “Angel rape” That's based on a statement of desire on the part of the Men of Sodom to “force” the visitors. The citizens of Sodom have no idea what kind of body the newcomers have, or even that they are messengers of God. Had they done so, they might've thought twice about their request~! 6:37 So it seems like the progression of thought here is as follows: Angels rebelled → God binding rebellious angels → Jesus encounters demons who couldn't be the ones that rebelled since they were in “Jail” → Therefore, it must have been the Nephilim spoken of in Genesis. @7:14 - “The Fallen sons of God were sent to Tartarus for their transgression. Tartarus is a Greek word for the realm of the Dead, what we think of as hell. They'd stay there until the day of the Lord at the end of days. A term like Fallen Angels makes us think of demons like the ones Jesus cast out. But the rebels of t Genesis 6 are imprisoned so they can't be the demons Jesus encountered, so where did they come from? The answer lies in The Offspring produced by The Forbidden Union between the sons of God and the women in Genesis. Those Offspring were known as the Nephilim” Again, where is this stated as an underlying principle? Like I've already pointed out, a pig and a goat can't copulate and produce offspring. Since humans are lower beings than Angels, Heb 2.7,9 where's the proof that angels have a reproductive system akin to what humans possess? Furthermore, I do believe you stated in a previous video that there's evidence of evil & rebellion among the ranks of the Celestial beings running through the scriptures - Job's “Accuser,” the being that volunteered to be a lying spirit, the evil spirit God sent to torment Saul. Are these Nephilim, too? Clearly there are other dysfunctional spirit beings than what we learn about through Peter & Jude. 11:00 Restating the basis for the 2nd rebellion. 2 Pet 2.4-5, Jude 1.6 But where is the place where we see the Nephilim were the offspring of Angel/Human unions? It's simply assumed. I once saw in the house I was renting a room from in Newberg, OR what I called a “Daddy long legs” - They look like mosquitos with spider legs? [They're actually called “Crane Flies”] Anyway, this guy had gotten a body big enough to be a pet Parakeet - Just get him a cage & teach 'em to sing ;-) I don't think his momma banged 'ol Beelzebub or one of his underlings. I think it's obvious that through progressive breeding, warm weather conditions, etc. we got this “Monster bug” looming in the stairwell by a neon light down to the basement apartments. Scientifically speaking, it's probably just as much if not more likely that the Nephilim were the offspring of Big Momma getting with Big Daddy until - presto the Not-so jolly green giant~! Maybe Momma & Daddy were inbred? Who knows? But what does it say happened? What did the Sons of God do? Gen 6.2 “God’s sons saw that men’s daughters were beautiful, and they took any that they wanted **for themselves as wives** ” And in one of the very few times - or even the only time - Jesus is discussing the sex life of Celestial beings, what's he got to say to the matter? Mat 22.30 For in the resurrection they **neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are like God’s angels in heaven** 16:18 “Enoch” - Pardon me whilst I take a moment to give a big **eyeroll** I actually got a copy of that from an ILL in my early 20's because I was corresponding with an Unbeliever - an “Ex-Christian” who was trying to use that Apocryphal book to beat me over the head with “See? You don't even have the whole Bible~!” Because 2 NT writers included a quote from Enoch, that does not mean they were reading from the same text. It's highly possible [and more likely] they were drawing from an independent tradition - either oral or written - that included that quote. Have there been any other texts we cannot account for the source of that got into the NT? Yes. Matt 2.23. At this point, I think it'd be wise to introduce a maxim from logic: “Correlation =/= Causation” Certainly the Nephilim are mentioned in *correlation* with the Sons of God & Daughters of Men. But are they the “Causation?” So far I've seen nothing that eliminates altogether the possibility that the Nephilim were the offspring of Human/Human relations. As well, I see nothing that establishes any mechanical reality of offspring from Human/Demonic relations. And we do have the words of Jesus to consider, which seem to me for all the world to mean Angels are completely Asexual.

A thought just came to me: Enoch is the Old Testament version of the early Church fathers. If we trust the works of Ignatius or Irenaeus, why can't we trust Enoch in the same way. Did not Jesus refer to the book of Enoch and Jude quote from it?
