The 2nd level is tough but genius imo; very fun, dark but fun. It's SE done properly, not like that total douchekit of the last 'level' (cough: walk through fire for an hour and hope to smile)
That new sup speed run was the best one I've ever seen. It was even better then all the "good" new sup speed runs I've seen made by good level creators, in my opinion. The music really fit the level well too.
Kalahatze Thanks! I have never seen ryu, carl, or poo ever play a level focusing on a new soup tech that is unique to itself, the mid air twirl. It can be a little janky at times though. Some of those gaps can be overshot if you are like frame perfect on it as you begin the decent. The end of the level use to be 3 more munchers wide :O

Actually, that guy couldn't have made it any more clear that there was cheese potential in that room. You just didn't realize it until you looked at it in the editor!

For everyone who is confused as to why implementing a 'dev skip' is a sneaky thing to do, here's why. In order to upload your level to the SMM world, you need to complete the level, to prove it can be finished. Putting in a secret way to finish the stage shows that you've made a level that even you yourself cannot complete the 'correct' way. So essentially, you are challenging others to do something better than you, except you are only pretending to have done it. Sneaky sneaky..
For Ryu levels, at least for me, I'm NOWHERE near as good as he is in this game, so I'd probably have to play for hours for a level he can beat in a couple tries (not to mention any checkpoints I put in the level). If I want to give him a challenging level (for him), what should I do instead?
@@krystallinekris Git good But more seriously, if you can't beat a difficult enough level to be challenging for him, then you shouldn't try to upload one. Either it matters enough to you to put in the time to beat a challenging level or it doesn't, but putting in a secret dev exit isn't a good solution. In my opinion it would be better to put in a non-secret dev exit and just ask people to play the hard way explicitly rather than trying to hide it. Chances are people won't play the hard way, but then at least you aren't pretending to be something you aren't
@@kevinwells9751 The issue with 'putting in the time' for a hard level for Ryu is that it might take you several hours to beat something that Ryu can beat in ten minutes, never mind having to clear it from any checkpoints. I mean, I'd love to make something for him and for it to show up in a video, but I don't want to dedicate a long time to it. That's the predicament of trying to make a level for someone that's of a higher skill level than you, is it not? I suppose I could try to make a quirky level, like the "Super Mario RPG" level of "Goomba Forest" that I've seen.
@@kevinwells9751 i like the solution of the dev door that goes to the exit but with 5 billion donut blocks. If you really don't want to play it, well fine, you just have to wait. But if you wanna get world record or have fun, play the stage as intended. That also mean that if your level is too hard you can still validate it it juste takes patience
Videos are great Ryu! With your emphasis on making progress I think it would be cool to have a "progress meter" edited in videos or something going up and down with success. Idk i'm sure there would be someway to make it fun. Just a suggestion. Keep it up!

The creator of that last level knows pretty well of Ryu, he knows that when ryu do always slow falling mechanics, he prevents that by dropping a saw and has an anti cheese cuz he knows that ryu loves cheese.
Ryu!! Doooode, there is a level dashi just played that he couldn't get even half way through but there was cheese 🧀 everywhere, the level was called "harder than Satan's diugh!" I have to see you complete it!
I'm so glad Ryu found the cheese on that 1st stage. It was quite obvious there was a dev skip w/ all those Trump Jumps. So dirty. Also, that last level was awesome.
4:16 You're back at the checkpoint WITHOUT the key means that the level can be cleared without going through the final key door, i.e. some sort of cheese or dev skip has to be in place. The fact that Ryu has failed to spot this simple thing is very disappointing... (I still love you Ryu)
That first level had a checkpoint. He had to have cleared it without the key door unless it’s possible to backtrack all the way to the bomb section, which didn’t look too possible. So there was most likely a dev exit
More Celeste or Secret of Mana videos on this TH-cam format would be superb in my opinion. While I enjoy your Mario Maker videos and especially the Mario Rom hacks, it's great that you have many types of games on your channel and it makes it even more intriguing to follow. Playlists such as Getting Over it and Hello Neighbor are among my favourites now even though I had never heard of them before, so feel free to introduce any new games you find interesting on your channel! :-)

Finding dev skips is great in Super Expert levels but when people make you a level and still have those in, it just feels... stupid.
Probably cuz they want to give Ryu a challenge, but they can't do it in one shot by their own.
