Love the natural way of explaining that you do and the passion for Kendo that you show. Do you have any tips on how to apply tenouchi during suburi? Since the shinai has nothing to hit so it will not bounce by itself.
Thank you! Glad that you liked it! Now tenouchi without hitting anything is pretty much the same. You need to stop the shinai. So you grab it when you want to . When you want to stop, you grab your shinai. And then relax all the way up and all the way down until you stop your sword. That is the basic idea. Here is more videos about tenouchi [th-cam.com/play/PLmdvM8fwuCxh3-Usj_Ex4vyPCrXjCGVr8.html]. Hope these will help too.
That shouldn't be that different. But in iaido, you don't strike anything. In kendo you do. So we need to adjust tenouchi a little bit. When you do tameshi giri (test cuts) then again tenouchi should be different. But overall, the idea is the same.
Sensei it has been a month since I started this journey. I feel special and happy because I always wanted to be a Kendoka. When I am striking ooki men and running, (Zanshin I guess) I tend to hold my arms up. (My sensei warned me about this. I pay heed to her teachings) Also during the suburi sessions my shinai swings due to my right hand I think. I know that my wrists have always been weak. Last week during my first kirikaeshi with the senpais, my wrists got really sore. How could I build up strenght? Also I am having trouble when we are doing one handed suburi. What should I do to fix these. Some senpais say that they've been through the same and told me not to worry about it too much, because these things occupy my mind so much. Do you have any suggestions Imafuji Sensei? 感謝しています。
Thank you for your question! Before we talk about how to strengthen your wrists, do you think your left wrist is too high? Please check this video: th-cam.com/video/PbMgcPucvOk/w-d-xo.html You can check one handed strike at th-cam.com/video/IHYx8feDPSg/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/a8H18lS1dQw/w-d-xo.html If you have questions, please let me know!
@@KendoGuide thank you sensei. I've done what you have shown me. Yesterday sensei told me that I've fixed my mistakes and I should find a bogu for myself online.
Appreciate your work, and willingness to help others, and train so hard, I wanted to know your opinions of miyamoto musashi, his teaching's do you believe he is a hype? I was consulting with another online instructor,, lol I won't name names and he was persistent about talk on this man and saying he wasn't much of a special someone, wanted to know your thoughts" if you have the time or would like to share would deeply appreciate it, from a new subscriber, thank you!
Thank you for your kind words! And thank you for subscribing to my channel! Interesting topic but you will be disappointed when you hear my perspectives on that topic. 😅 He survived because he didn't fight anyone stronger than him. That is one perspective. He survived because he was really really strong. Maybe he was a good writer :) Whatever he was, whoever he fought, he left us great documents. And we still read his books after 400 years of his time. So he is something, right? I just enjoy what historians find about history and how scholars interpret. See? I disappointed you, right? Sorry about this, but that is truly how I feel.
You poll post won't allow multiple reply comments, I say maybe run it by your students as well if you were to have a live demonstration " maybe they might have some ideas or what they might be comfortable with, but your are the sensei, do with them what you will 😈😇😎🎌

Can you tell me what differences between tennouchi iaido and tennouchi kendo ?

Fair enough, he was a writer and did have many duels, kinda hard to say tell your face to face with some one, guess will never know 😅 thank you
