      this is why lyrically this is one of my favorites from sabaton, I love how the majority of the song has a positive and hopeful tune, but then there's the end to demonstrate that the war isn't really over, and that in 20 years another one will start

    At the end, instead of: "It's a war that will end all war" at some point I always begin to hear: "It's a war that will end the World" and I think it's fitting, misheard lyrics can sometimes be just as cool as the real ones.

      Yes, its because it is a song with a very good melody, because of that orchestra instruments sound very well in it.
      Altough i cant say the same for Sarajevo.
      Especially in the part with the guitar solo. Altough the refrain in the song pairs well with the added instruments.

    It was not just WW2 that was birthed by the Treaty. The bureaucrats at Versailles drew up new (often artificial) borderlines all throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa without a hint of knowledge of the local peoples, cultures and religions living there. African civil wars, the Yugoslav war in the 80s and the continuous conflicts in the Middle East until the present day can be (partially) contributed by these border rearrangements in 1918.

      Versailles treaty wasn't even as harsh as others WW1 treaty and we didn't see Bulgaria, Hungary or Turkey starting the worst conflict in History.
      Saying it was France's fault was like saying it was Poland's fault for WW2 because they didn't cede Dantzig to Germany.
      Hell WW2 peace treaty was even more harsh than Versailles and this time they didn't try to take revenge

    • @Klepto2322
      @Klepto2322 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      I wouldn't really call the reparations excessively harsh. Patriotism may sway my feelings on the matter somewhat though. France bore the brunt of the war on the Western Front. We fought from beginning to end, and even today our land bears the scars from some of the bloodiest fighting that humanity has seen. Even a battle like the Somme, which is typically seen as a British battle, saw us contribute 48 of the 98 total divisions.
      If the near entirety of the Western Front had taken place on British soil, they'd be just as embittered as we were. The same goes for any country. This is why Englishmen like John Maynard Keynes (a primary critic of the treaty) confuse me. Had the English lost as much farmland as we did, Great Britain would have lost a tenth of their total land. My belief is that, had that come to pass, the English would have pushed for more severe reparations than we did in real life.
      It is important to note that we wanted to push further. To take Berlin and Vienna. Had the Entente occupied those cities, the inhabitants may not have been so eager to go to war again. Could that have stopped WW2 from happening, or at least delayed it? I cannot say, but it is something to think about.

    I am honest to you. Both songs, Sarajevo and Versailles sound good. But you did a really bad job on the bridges in both songs. In Sarajevo, the key you used does not match the original key. In Versailles you did the same thing, only you also did your part in minor, where the original key is major. Therefore, the bridges are absolutely not successful. But the rest sounds incredibly good, especially Sarajevo.
