Hybrid Marine Engine Launch at Seawork 2024

Star of the show at Seawork 2024 was Scania’s hybrid powertrain, which has been developed alongside Marell Boats and Marine Jet Power to fit the Marell M17 hybrid patrol boat. The three companies joined forces to create a sustainable and state-of-the-art vessel to meet the demands of high-performance boats today and into the future.
The M17 Patrol will become the most energy efficient hybrid high-speed craft on sale, thanks to the combination of Scania’s new hybrid technology with Marell’s technical boatbuilding craftmanship.
Powered by two Scania V8 engines and two electric motors, this hybrid boat has between 2500hp and 3050hp at its disposal, making it capable of doing more than 65 knots (74mph+). As well as the ability to travel silently and emissions-free in and out of harbours. All of which will be demonstrated on the Solent throughout the show.
Which makes it ideal for operators, police, military and other government bodies requiring high-performance boats for long distance transits while minimising their environmental impact.
