how does a non-tax payer handle a CP504 letter? After all, most people are non-taxpayers. I've never seen, in law, a statute or law that requires us to pay federal taxes.
Nothing happens until you pay it I got it too ignored it for years .never got levied got cars no garnishments. Just was told again when I wanted to catch up and paid the outstanding balance it's dumb
how does one find a valid Assessment made by the IRS? how can the IRS threaten a Levy without providing the actual record of Assessment signed under penalty of perjury?
@@LoganAllec Thanks! Do you ever see cases in which IRS requests a 433-A in addition to the 433-B for a corp or do they mostly focus just on the collecting from the business?
How are we supposed to pay anything or request any hearing when the numbers on the notices run you around in circles? Can you please post a good number to contact the IRS? I think I qualify for abatement.
Unfortunately, it can be difficult to individual taxpayers to get ahold of someone at the IRS who knows what they're talking about. As tax professionals, we have a direct line for CPAs and attorneys. I'd encourage you to fax your request as it will safe you time. Be sure to include a cover sheet (that includes your fax number, name, SSN, tax year in question, and your request itself) as well as any documentation you have supporting your request behind the cover sheet. Good luck!
They granted an abatement on the fees but nothing else, then they turned around and said that everything that we agreed to on that phone call was no longer applicable and they want the full amount now. My situation is complicated and I am doing amendments on the tax return for years 21 and 22. I'm finishing the 21 amendment now. My boyfriend at the time never claimed me and now we are married. I also never received any EIP'S for 2020 or 2021 so I am hoping that they will be able to get the money they want from him from my EIP credits.
Hi Logan. Received a CP504 notice today. I plan on having my tax paid in 2 week. Will that be enough time to avoid a levy or lien? Thanks for the content very helpful.
Question, if you pay off the total amount on the CP504 online on the 26th day (a Saturday), payment was accepted successfully, but they tell you that it won't apply until the 30th day (a Tuesday because Monday is a holiday), will that resolve the problem and avoid that levy? My understanding is that at this stage everything is automated and no humans are involved in this initial collection process. Thanks, I look forward to receiving a reply. Good video, very informative.
If a taxpayer has been compliant by filing 6 years or beyond of back taxes, are SFRs remaining file automatically enforced without management approval ?
You’re asking if IRS staff can pursue SFRs can prepare SFRs beyond the six years without managerial approval for a situation when a taxpayer is in compliance for the last six years?
@@LoganAllecThank you LoganAllec. Actually I was wondering If the SFRs that are beyond the 6 years of compliance are already on file, could they be enforced without management approval i.e. tax years for 2017-2023 have been filed and are within compliance but tax years 2013-2016 have yet to be filed and have SFRs attached to them. Would there need to be management approval to enforced those SFRs for tax years 2013-2016 since they fall outside the 6 years of compliance but tax years 2017-2023 are in compliance.
What is the notice number on the notice you received from the IRS? Some notices are simply a proposal of what the IRS is proposing to assess against you. If that's the case, your balance would show as $0 on the IRS website until that amount is actually assessed.
@@dreamceline2093 because I’ve seen other CPAs and Finiancial advisors on TH-cam that have all said different things and their info lines up with each other. I want to thank you for being a stand up gentleman and checking up on my situation. I wish you all the success in the world!
Thanks. I was freaking out when I got the certified letter
What if you just rent a room ? And don't own any real estate property

Quit playing. You're living in this country, you will pay. This whole mindset is almost as bad as being an Alex Jones fanboy.
if you send some money does it stop them until you get your taxes filed
HOW can the IRS levy a CIVPEN for "frivolous position" when there are no enforcement regulations AND they do not disclose the alleged "position"?
What remedies does IRS have if you have no income to garnish, no bank accounts or assets?

For 2022, IRS only sent CP161 and then went straight to CP504B, skipping CP501 and CP503. Why is this?

You will be fine, but the CP504 is not exactly the "initial collection process."
Can the IRS take money out of 401K or Cal Savers account? I live in California.
Hi Logan.
hello gladys how are you?
Can you still enter into an installment agreement after receiving one of these letters?
Yes! I expand on this question more fully in this video that will be published soon: th-cam.com/video/hHNU8pY4ICk/w-d-xo.html
