Buckin Billy Ray... The technique of you using the ax to pick up split logs so you don't have to bend over as much or as often... That's my goal next year I'm going to sharpen my axes up and I'm going to become a junior Billy Ray... That's it that's my goal I'm going to impress my sons when we split wood together... Thanks Billy Ray for all that you show us..

That 67 Ford truck is quite a buddy. It does just about anything you ask of it. This video has completely changed my thinking about older truck not able to do very heavy , heavy work. Your Ford truck is something else, it's a workhorse. I don't know if a 67 Chevy truck could handle that load, because their frames and drive train weren't very tough until 87. I was a truck frame repairman for over 33 years. God bless.

Jeez Buckin’!!! You make splitting look so easy. Around here, we have a lot of hardwood Ash that are dying off and bazillions have been cut down. Trying to split that stuff needs a good axe, a couple of good wedges and a stout sledgehammer. Absolutely love the ol’ Ford. Nothing works like a Ford Eh!!

I know I'm always jealous watching him split that Fer I'm on the east coast USA an we ash is one of the easier woods i find to split well its all dead nowadays. I actually took down a live ash a few weeks ago an felt bad but it was in a bad spot an customer wanted it down but oak, maple ,hickory Lucas is all hard splitting your right about needing a Vera of tools to hand split around here. I want to try a Taz head tho. I looks like it would work well on are hardwoods

You make everything look so easy. From cutting to splitting to wheeling it in the truck. You have some trick shots there. 😮 Your cardio is great to that stuff will test your cardio real quick. I'm jealous. I did learn something from watching you hitting the log from the outer edge cracks far easier then going for the center especially on the big ones. I had some big logs and cracked it from the outside and just kept circling the log wow much much faster and far easier. I always did center first. I'm happy I saw how you do it. Man you split faster then I can with my log splitter 😳

I had a '69 Ford F250 2wd. One weekend my dad and I were down to the woods cutting fire wood. we had the truck loaded up to the top of the cab. Started it up and it would idle jus t fine. As soon as you touched the gas, it would stall. And there was a strong smell of gas. I opened the hood and found gas spraying out the bottom of the fuel pump like water out of a shower head. There is a can type fuel filter screwed on the bottom of the pump. The bottom of the can, rusted out. I filled a baby food jar with gas and sat up under the hood. My dad drove. Every time the truck would start to stall, I spilled some gas in the carb. It was only 1/2 hecktic mile home. Sure glad it didn't backfire.

You're right about chopping competitions ..when I was a kid ... no more than 8-10 I remember seeing World champ Sonny Bolstad win a standing cut with as huge handicap. He was killed when a skidder or something rolled on him ..he was 51.

Awesome video Buckin' Your endurance splitting those rounds is impressive! I read years ago that Douglas Fir has the density and btu equivalent of many hardwoods such as maple and oak. The TinMan 266 seemed to cut through that fir the way a well broken in 562XP would cut through a maple out here on the east coast. Once you run 5 or 10 tanks of fuel through it, I bet you'll see a nice difference.
