I experienced my first ever panic attack whilst driving and ever since driving terrifies me, it's a pity as I used to love driving 😕

This is so needed right now Billy, only Today I was taking my mum on a 200 mile round trip, driving to pick up the new car I was good, felt ok a little gutted we was changing cars but I was excited a little to get a new car to. So as I was driving on the motorway I noticed a sports car about to pass us, I felt like yeeeaaah look at that beauty, and WACK I got 3 or 4 missed/skipped beats what seemed like in a row and felt tingly and warm instantly even felt like I got shivers in my head on each side where my temples are.. the whole thing seemed to last 20 or 30 seconds and left me feeling upset and scared.... I was so scared but I tried to tell myself that I've had these for about 4 years now and I'm still alive.. This was about 9 hours ago and I'd not had any from waking up untill I got them 3 or 4 then not had any since and if felt ok just scared.... CAN I ASK please can an instant change in emotions HAPPY or UPSET can instantly trigger them..

    1. I hope you'll be leaving a nice travel log video from Devon or wherever you may wander.
    2. Like me, you know all the right interventions and the right things to do, and so you do them... And still have some dizziness. Just like me! I think there's more to this than anxiety tbh.

I can relate, I used to love driving and experienced my first ever panic attack whilst driving. 7 years ago I had to have life saving spinal surgery which left me having to learn how to walk and go to the toilet all over again. I had a car on the motobillty scheme but I've now been told the car has to go back because of changes to the benefits (which I don't understand why, I've not miraculously recovered 😕). I will reapply for another car but I know it will be like starting all over again. This illness is so debilitating, I hope things improve for you my friend 😉

I always have loperamide with me as helps to settle stomach and stomach ache , also chewing gum helps, the flavour and action of chewing is a distraction, also a stress ball just squeeze it keep it on your knee just grab it when feeling of anxioudnes, seems to work as a distraction as well.

I'm fine being in the car and driving, whilst I'm not really thinking about the driving, it's when I start overthinking about it.........and when I come to a really high bridge with a lot of traffic......oh dear
