I do recomme d not to paint over it within 3 days aince it takes a fair amount of water itself which has to go before you can paint it, otherwise your paont wont last. It can not stand leakage, if there is water continouisly dripping on it the pkaster will dissolve. There are plasters that are used in bathrooms in belgium that can withstand water and work much like cement.
