This brings back so many memories of my youth building Novas as ive had 5 over the years. You're doing an awesome job and cant wait to see the finished product. ✌️👍
@@Shop209 Thanks man,Yes all the cars are mine I’m just trying to save all the Nova’s I can a little at a time.A lot of work goes into these cars as you know but I enjoy doing it.I really like all your videos very informative.
Great job man can't even tell it was a four door. Cant wait to see it with the new roofskin. Keep up the good work my friend shout out to you from Mexico 🇲🇽
This has to be one of the coolest builds yet I love your videos bro by watching you it gave me the confidence to cut out the tail panel on my 73 hatch back and weld in a 68-72 tail panel.
nice helped a guy do rocker panels and i made the headers to fit watched him take 3 different chevys all wrecked and lead weld into one incredible dou you rock😁🤩😎
Really digging the videos. Two door conversions are becoming a real trend now and it's cool watching what can be done with a few simple tools. The only critique I have though is as an influencer, influence by wearing some proper PPE rather than one handing the grinder and turning away to avoid sparks.
Thanks. I agree. I should be wearing hearing and eye protection. I’ll try to start. However I promise you’ll never see me with a gas tank in the car with me. Ever.
What's going on, John, when I installed my AMD passenger Side quarter panel right, where the lead goes right where the roof meets the sail panel. Just where you were showing where it sticks out. the roof mine did the same thing and I thought something was wrong. But when you put reinforcement filler there, you can fade it right back to the roof line it'll be fine.
I need to put a passenger side quarter on my 72 Nova when I bought back in 92 it had a lot of Bondo on it, after sanding all the Bondo off it had a huge /\-shape rip that was braised in with brass, all I can figure is they took a skill song cut the fender so they can put a wider Tire on it because the inner Fender wheel house was cut also..
Well I gotta say great job. Just every time I see that car I say myself are you kidding. And you do some work and I'm saying oh maybe there is some hope for that car 🚗 anyway please keep doing a great job. So Daughters will keep quiet.
keep up interesting videos. Maybe make on starter adpapers for run stands. Here is one for ford 302 i just ordered,, hope it fits. Summit Racing SUM-918015-SPF - Summit Racing™ Run Stand Starter Adapters
@@Shop209 Yep I hear people complain about how high a paint job is etc , they need to paint a car then selfs one time and some might understand. They don't get if you have to buy everything you need that's 2 to 5 grand if you got to buy big things like a good welder and then you still get ti do all that labor and hioe it turns out right. That stuff definitely an art just my 2 cents. I'm going to snag me 55 four door and convert it I can't afford the two doors. I've watched DD do a crap load of them that guy is very talented I think. Anyways the way I see it you saved a junker and made it cool. , 😎
It's looking good, and the list you told of what is left SOUNDS like it's not much. Obviously, it's gonna be a can of worms, but I'm gonna keep watching. The only thing I gotta ask, is please don't repaint it that horseshit green. If it goes primer grey, it's still better than the green.
Great job John really coming together. I love that you saved that car. Another nova back on the road.👍💯
Thanks Bud!
I really appreciate how precise you are with each gap. Your idea of "just cool looking" is better than most people's idea of perfect!

For someone not trying to get it looking too nice you making it look pretty darn good.
Yeah. I’m bad about that. I’ll be painting the bottom of it if I don’t find a stopping point. lol
looking good 209
I like the way it’s turning out!! You’re doing a great job!!
See piece of cake 🍰, I told you it would be easy for you.😁 No one will ever know it was ever a more door.😎👍
Lol. I edited out all the cussing and throwing stuff and crying.

Thanks. So did I. lol
This video has perfect timing bro this is what I'm doing this week I was watching the rear window removal video today so I didn't burn or break it 👍
Cool deal. I have more detail on sone clips I’m posting to members. Be a few days.

Who knows?Maybe the after market roof line will be off too and it will match perfectly ,LOL

Dang. My 73 actually has a brazed on quarter. Repair done in 70’s
Massive progress!

The New Nova Patch !
Good job John........
Nice work!! I wonder how many will do this
Don’t know. It’s a ton of work.
Hi just throwing out an idea 💡 what would you think putting in new tubes in the rebuild. Anyway I don't know if it will work.
I thought about doing mini tubs while I had it apart but it’s a bunch of work. I still might
Nicely done👍🏻
Coming along Nice!!!
Now it's probably worth 5,000.00👍🏻.it got saved that's a plus.
What in the DD Speed Shop have you done? Looks amazing my friend.
Lol. Thanks!!

So you are only using the 2 door donor for is inner structure and alignment.?.? Right.?
I’m using the inner quarters, inner sail panels and roof structure from the 2 door. Also a few inches of top of A pillars.
It's a lot of sheet metal work. But you will have a good solid car when you're done.
Looking like something!

There might be a few guys out looking for 4 door novas in wrecking yards now !
Lol.
Are their any updates on the 4-door Nova
I’m cleaning up and organizing shop right now. Then heading to PRI show Wednesday. I’ll be working on the 4 door until it’s done starting Sunday.
Great work
I'm surprised you didn't quarters on the budget Nova. Seems like every affordable Nova needs quarters
I had planned to paint it. The guy buying it asked me to leave it as it was
What do you think of the earlier shoebox Nova's/II's ?
I like them. I’ll get one someday
@@Shop209 I dig em alot, even the four doors, but they look like an easy-ish conversion.

More Work More Cool
Can we paint it one of the Colors of a MTN DEW can…not the NASCAR scheme, but our own design?
I have two colors picked out. Not sure which one yet but one of them rhymes with green.
@@Shop209 Man I hope you’re thinking about the old Willy the Hillbilly Mountain Dew colors.
Impressive!
Where in Georgia?

I wish I had the patience to do body work my novel needs work from the last person that did quarters

What you going to end up with 200 hundred hours in it or more ? a lot of people just don't understand the challenge but that's how you learn.
Probably 150hrs just getting it swapped. Maybe 350 by the time it has paint
