Cohh is the only person I've seen to recognize S.T.A.L.K.E.R 2 instantly.
It brought joy to my heart to see his utter happiness because it seems like no other major content creator that streamed this even reacted at all.
And instantly isn't an overstatement.
First few damn frames.

Yeah it was really unimpressive. The grappling hook was neat but the other games have shit like jetpacks and stuff so it was a super bland intro to gameplay

I oh so hope that Jack Black being in the Double Fine studio was for Brütal Legend 2 and because he was there anyways they got him to record that song for Psychonauts.
Don't get me wrong.
Brütal Legend 2 absolutely needs to NOT include the RTS part of the original game.
The story and world and music were awesome, the action combat was also well enough for the time.
The RTS part was absolutely horrible.

One or two games looked intersting to me, but overall a pretty underwhelming showcase :(
It would have been fine if MS didn't overhyped it. "Mic Drop", "12 TF Performance" and so on, and we've seen nothing about that in that showcase. Disappointing.
@@behemothokun Exactly my thoughts. I really want all consoles to succeed, competition = better products for the customers. Maybe they'll pull it back up before the end of fall.
Also, you cant have your flagship franchise / system seller being played on PC during what's supposed to be your biggest games showcase before the console is out

Didin't enjoy the setting in vermintide but oh boy a 40k version? i'm so in.
That universe is so ludicrously well developed and huge I think it's really hard to make games about 40K.

Halo Infinite was NOT running on the XBox Series X but a "high end PC".

When someone asks you "What were you really excited about after this event?" and you friend's response starts with, "Uhhh.... I think I got really excited about...."
If you have to think about your response, XBox has a problem.

Avowed and fable on PC for me.
With the new Halo game, they seem to be really hesitant to reveal much of the real core story, so far just releasing these disjointed fragments of things happening and characters obviously being a part of the story, but nothing to show what the larger story will be.
Either they'll have some massive reveals closer to the console release or this is a dud.
I'm hoping but also expecting it's the first, it makes sense from a marketing perspective to go peak hype with the flagship game closer to time of release.
How is Halo still the flagship IP for Xbox? Halo 5 was quite easily the most generic FPS I've ever played.
Yeah, 343 has handled the IP very poorly.

The gameplay of Ratchet and Clank alone from the PS5 looked better than any gameplay shown during the XBox event. This was a REALLY underwhelming 'showcase' of games for the 'world's most powerful console'. I expected XBox to bring their A-game but the only game that showed off any decent amount of gameplay was VERY unpolished and generic looking. FAIL.
This felt a good bit weaker than the PlayStation conference. Halo Infinite didn't call to me, I've not been super interested in Halo, but this certainly didn't make me any more interested. Psychonauts looks good but not my deal. If not for the Obsidian RPG or the Rare game, neither of which we got anything concrete for, I'd not have anything interesting me. Hell, the best game was relegated to the damn preshow.
It is very different, XBOX bought lots of companies 2018 and 2019, and they are the ones making interesting games that draws attention to Xbox series x, so they will need time to establish their direction.
Sony dominated last generation of consoles, so all they had to do was follow that path and they are set.
I had 0 expectations for Xbox going in, and was interested in 5 games, Avowed, Stalker 2, Darktide, medium and fable
more than expected so very excited about the following years from more of the other studios they bought last year.
@@enightc You're not wrong about the timetable, and yet Microsoft needs to live up to the standard set by its competitors. The Wii U had an AWFUL time and yet that didn't stop the Switch from coming out swinging. Microsoft isn't setting itself up for the big success it hyped up yet. I hope I'm wrong for competition's sake, but compared to a Sony showcase where all but 1 game had gameplay, and all but one had a reselase within 2021 this is weak opening lineup.
@@Barista.Nathan You are right, Xbox is still stuck in 2019 E3 version of showcase, Sony saw the crowd demanding gameplay after XBox messed up with the Assassin's creed missing gameplay, that they heard what the crowd of 2020 wanted and delivered. So Xbox has not been ahead of the trend and is indeed behind Sony in its showcases.
Those games are way too early for game play so I understand why they don't have it right now.
@@enightc It's unfortunate for Xbox to be a year behind Sony going into a second straight console generation. Hopefully they narror the gap quickly and keep competitive this gen.

I was actually MORE excited for the series X before this fiasco. After the last outing microsoft had you'd think they'd have learnt their lesson. Their PR department needs to be put in stocks and whipped. Just. Awful.
Microsoft: I know you guys hated how our last showcase which hardly had any gameplay...so we are just going to do that again.

How so? Playstation showed like four or five games, while xbox showed way more games and they look pretty good.
Gameplay footage is overrated unless it's a new IP. I don't need to see Halo gameplay to know what the gameplay will be like. Announcements as cinematics are a cool way to let people know that they are working on the project and generate some hype... The gameplay pops up when it's ready.
