Buffing literally useless Raza who wasn't even good enough to make the cut in highlander Priest decks was the perfect decision. Not nerfing Anduin on the other hand...
Raza is such a cool, smooth, perfect card for Priest. No more dilemmas about developing board, clearing or healing, you get the best of both worlds. Why they then had to design Anduin in a way that fucks everything up is beyond me. Of all the DKs, that's the ONE that they gave a refreshable hero power to? Really??
raza started at 0 mana. they nerfed it because of anduin and then reverted the nerf much later on. during mean streets, people definitely played raza in highlander priest decks. i had a golden raza. still have it actually. it was quite strong for the same reason genn greymane was strong. highlander priest was not bad, just way worse than warlock and mage. back then you played n'zoth, the velen OTK, or even dragons. there were a lot of strong dragons in standard at the time, and priest could actually take pretty good advantage of healing them for no cost. but then the metagame became more controlling, and priest's hero power only really shines in more minion-centric metagames. but I agree they really missed the mark by nerfing raza instead of nerfing anduin. a 0 mana hero power isn't a problem in and of itself. it's not even made problematic by other hero power synergy cards. like what's the big deal if someone plays raza into garrison commander or beardo? the real problem isn't having a 0 mana hero power, it's having a hero power that refreshes itself and deals damage. doesn't take a genius to see how that's gonna go wrong lol. not only is it obviously too powerful but it's also obviously dull and flavorless. if they were committed to making it refresh itself, then it should have been "give an enemy minion -2/-2 or give a friendly minion +2/+2." at least using that 8 times in a turn isn't going to win from out of nowhere, you at least need to have minions on board to translate it into damage. it surprises me they still haven't changed anduin. I stopped playing the last 2 years. I was pretty shocked to come back and find that reno priest is still making wild dull and repetitive all these years later. even crystal core is more entertaining to play against, at least there's minion combat.

Hey roffle what are your initial thoughts on hearthstones new way of replacing quests and overall free progress? IMO it’ll be worse for free to play players but I’m curious about what you think on this issue.
There aren't enough details (other than leaks which are subject to change or inaccuracy) yet to have much of an opinion since it hasn't been officially announced. Progression with the current quest system is pretty lacking so I'm fine with an overhaul as long as it has at least the same reward to playtime ratio.
The ratio part is very true. If we have to play more to get the same or less rewards, then there’s gonna need to be a change. But if they change the system enough to make this pass justified, then I can see it work through.

Soul Shards interfere with Skull of Gul'dan cost reduction which is one of the most important cards in the deck.

I haven't heard about this, will it be more like MTG arena? MTG arena is very free-to-play so hopefully hearthstone will become more free-to-play too!

I love a demon hunter deck that doesn't involve Baku.

why not playing only skulls as an outcast card to ensure double jump draw it on 7 ? (same principle than ancharr)
Eye Beam helps the deck stabilize with healing a bit better.
