  • Rubin 'Hurricane' Carter was an American-Canadian middleweight boxer who was wrongfully convicted of murder and later released after spending almost 20 years in prison. He inspired Mohammed Ali and Bob Dylan to campaign for him in 1976 with Dylan recording the iconic song 'Hurricane'.
    50 years on from Carter's conviction BBC World Service and Steve Crossman and Joel Hammer spent 18 months investigating a case that was never truly solved, after uncovering unheard tapes of Carter. The Series was called The Hurricane Tapes and you can listen to the series here: www.bbc.co.uk/...

    See, already a lot of boo boo. “His Grandfather was a slave”. First off, I’m not sure if this is possible. When Carter was born, slavery had ended completely 72 years prior. So Carters Grandfather was at the youngest 72 when he was born (that’s a pretty old Grandfather) for him to have been a slave. It sounds more again like Carters words to garner sympathy for him. It’s also immediately putting the audience on your side for why your youth was so troubled. It’s simple, what year was his grandfather born, and what state? If he was born after 1865, then he wasn’t a slave in any state. Most states in the north had banned slavery years prior to that. Carter’s whole book was a white guilt roller coaster and he sets it up from the beginning and this man has taken the bait.

    I saw the Denzel movie that's how I got put on to this story. Great podcast if your interested in doing a podcast on the central park five I could give u some insight I've read countless articles watched all the documentaries on it, 5 innocent kids arrested for a rape violence crime they didn't commit and eventually found guilty, did many years for it until the real rapist was eventually caught.

    • @billmarshall268
      @billmarshall268 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You do know those five kids are as guilty as sin don't you? Maybe you only watch bias documentaries made by them themselves like that Netflix miniseries. As you know they were convicted of several other felonies they committed that night outside of the rape. Something to note the prosecutor made it known that none of those boys stuck their penises in that woman during trial. It was public knowledge that there was a six man. They were there and they took part. Some of the stuff they did was help hold her down, groper and dry hump her. Two of them admitted to these crimes before the police even knew there was a victim. Korey wise bragged about what he had done before he been arrested to friends. Those friends testified against him in court. They also testified against him when they sued the city. Their interrogations are on TH-cam if you watch them you would know everything that many series said about the interrogations were a complete lie.
      If these five were really innocent then why would the miniseries have to tell why after lie after lie? The truth will set you free.
      One more thing to note prison records which you can look up for yourself show korey wise threatened Santana in prison and had a very bad track record. Santana had nothing to lose by saying he acted alone he was already serving life without the possibility of parole.

      They were very much guilty. The evidence is out there. She was gang raped, the boys admitted they couldn't "get it up" to follow thru with it. Yet, another person's DNA being there exonerated them? They always knew that they only caught some of them and that some got away. Atheism Is Unstoppable did a great series on the central park 5. so, did he or not

    • @Shadoefax760
      @Shadoefax760 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I'm on the fence with his innocence or guilt, the evidence is all pretty clear that he did do it. He failed a lie detector test & the two witnesses of the crime a mother & her son both identified Carter & Artis as the killers & both passed lie detectors tests about it. The murder weapons were in his car, eyewitnesses saw his car leaving the scene. It's a lot pointing towards his guilt. It's really a question of do you believe he was framed or not. He did have a violent past as a kid with robbing & stabbing people. It's very dense.
