Paul was being interviewed a few years back and the interviewer said; “Your name shall forever be associated with John Lennon” Paul’s response said it all. He said: “Hopefully”.
I know right! And still I am surprise for the poor reaction of the crowd when John start singing. Hell I would have lost my voice cheering at that moment. What a horrible crowd!
@@Drduque30 I thought about that too but with a three hour concert and a 36 song set, I think the crowd was emotionally exhausted. It was a truly immersive trip through the last 50+ years and everyone was spent. The crowd stepped up huge for the final song of the night "Hey Jude" and did a solid job with their Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na, Na's. I am whipped this morning from the concert. Just so good...
Something changed about Paul when John's voice came on. His mannerisms, his voice seemed to turn back a few decades. Amazing how a moment can override age. Good stuff.
The way Paul looks back at John singing though. Seeing that means so much to me, so I can't imagine how much it must have meant to Paul. They were brothers, and the love is still there. The Beatles man, best there's ever been.
You're right. I think Paul's biggest regret isn't the Beates breaking up, but not being able to save his friendship with John. Yet, from the interviews and from the movie "Two of us" it seems that the last time the two met, in 1976 in New York at John's house, having spent a nice day together, they said goodbye in friendship. Unfortunately, John returned to isolate himself and that was the last time they met.
I’m 70 now and I wouldn’t change a thing. To have grown up with the Beatles is a privilege. I remember my father driving me to a store and actually holding the White Album in my hands and could not wait to go home and listen to it. Fab 4 Ever!
in high school- '63, i was standing at the cash register, with all the new beatles 45's i could find, and as the lady rang me up, i asked her "are you SURE i have them all?" lol- a REAL fan- even then!
Wow, Im 62 years old and have tears running down my cheeks. I cant imagine what it was like for Paul the first time he did that. What a fantastic idea. Hope there is more of that.

Since John appeared on the screens, I literally started crying and couldn't stop till the end of the song... The magic of the technology used only for good stuff... Thank you, Sir Paul !!
This gave me chills because I didn't expect to see John.. and Paul looking at him...😅 And the crowd cheering...lol...brilliant move on Paul's part. He's great. I love the Beatles 👍🏻💯🇬🇧 cheers everyone happy holidays 🙏🏻 from England.
50 years difference in their ages. Almost twice as long as their ages were in the late 60s. Paul could be John's grandpa agewise. He needs to write, Will you still love me when I'm 84. Time flies. Beatles Forever. 🎵 🎸 🎤 🥁
Great video. People say Paul is losing his voice and I would agree, in fact he has been losing it for a while now only a few lucky ones manage to keep a good voice past 60. But, your missing the point of what music is about, music is about emotion, the time, the impact. We can still listen to the original songs at anytime but this is a once in a lifetime event
I agree. Look this is PaulMcCartney, one of the best ever. With his voice cracking so what! You definitely leave this man's concert feeling like a better person. He just gives off that energy. Another amazing concert.
Watching Paul watch John and then sing with him incites so many emotions. Definitely in awe watching the greatest songwriting duo ever from the greatest band ever. Greatest bromance ever as well. ❤
Sensational!!! Two world icons, forever! At that moment, a shy tear insists on descending. And how good it is!!! Thank you Paul, thank you John. Thank you Beatles!!!!!!
Wow. I would've been slack-jawed in tears. Seeing Johnny up there in all his glory. What Jackson gave us last November was one of my best Christmas presents as an old man. I saw Paul in 1989, Flowers in the Dirt tour, paid a scalper two weeks food money, but it was worth it. Ate rice for 2 weeks. Anyway, PJ's Get Back is a revelation.
I can’t stop looking at this, it’s just amazing, thanks to Macca❤️🎶❤️ After watching the documentary 6 times, I always felt John enjoyed the rooftop concert the most.. he looked so happy singing live with all the action around him
This brought me to tears. Seeing John and Paul together many years later. It hurts so much that Paul loses his voice.. especially when John sings in the background. But it doesn't change the meaning of the music. I bet it was absolutely breathtaking seeing it live :)
A technological wonder and so far advanced from the days of setting up their own amps in the basement of the Cavern and performing in stadiums without stage monitors. Thanks for posting this magic moment!
Wow this is awesome & respectful John sounds as though he was actually there as the recording of his voice was excellent & Paul’s just sublime as usual Wonderful sound engineers that need more recognition for the work they do
Thank you for this, what a perfect shot! So great to see and hear Paul and this Band touring again. Loved the way they did this this, wow. The hard reality is that the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak, and we all get old. Who knows how long we'll have Paul with us, so when i look, i dont look at an aging Paul, the Star, I see a seasoned Paul, the man. Thanks again for this, and thanks to Paul for still putting hinself out there for the fans. Bravo.
I was there that a night and I can happily confirm everything you wrote. It doesn't come across in the video as much but the audience FREAKED when John appeared. One addition - The artist (in this case, Paul McCartney) doesn't set the ticket prices, the promoters do. John and Paul, together again (at least as much as we can ever get them) - PRICELESS!
Glad I didn't see this video until today (May 16) so I could read your comments and update. I'm sorry there's anyone so alienated that they think having John on screen was "manipulative and tacky." Seriously???? For one thing, you can bet Yoko would have vetoed it if she thought so. I'm sorry anyone has been so beat up by life that they can't see the love and the gifts here - the gift from Peter Jackson to Paul, and the giant gift from Paul to us. I won't get to see this tour but thanks to TH-cam I can share in this fantastic moment. Thanks so much!
@@craigrheberling It will happen in Baltimore. Paul plays there on a sunday night and Ringo plays there the following 2 nights and Paul doesn't have another show until that Thursday in the meadowlands. I boldly predict Paul will show up at one of Ringo's shows.
This is so way cool! John is alive as long as people still remember him. I can't help think John would actually approve of this too. I only wish that they would also have used some of George's part too. His slide licks during the same portion of the song that John sings are top notch.
Hey, if Paul still wants to go play live and feels he can do it, more power to him! And, I thought that was a touching move having John on screen, and nothing less than a tribute.
Thank you for posting this, Scott Crawford! My husband and I were in tears at the end. We have seen Paul live twice (in 2005 and 2013) and we can say he puts on a great show! We wish we could've seen this show live 🙁 This is awesome. Thank you again for sharing! ❤
