Bohannon is a legend in soul music in the 70’s. Got most of his albums. Thanks for posting. KTF.

Brilliant. Just had a flashback to the winter gardens Cleethorpes. As moving today as yesteryear.

Great early seventies boogie tune that I played in the club I was resident.along with let’s start the dance this was a very popular tune and still gets played today by those d/j who are
brave enough to move away from the top 500 overplayed tunes.great post my friend.

I remember when this was first released [1975], Hamilton Bohannon embarked on a tour of the UK. My brother and I went to see him and after only a few minutes of performing, he stood up, literally kicked over his drum kit and stormed off stage whilst spewing forth a stream of profanities! [Bohannon already had a reputation as a highly volatile and 'demanding' artist - he certainly proved it that night!]
He was eventually coaxed back on stage and ended his performance as required, but it was interspersed with several more tantrums and it was clear from his demeanor, that he was not at all a happy man! Despite this, Hamilton Frederick Bohannon
was an accomplished producer, songwriter, arranger, and bandleader. His influence on Soul [and popular] music is still relevant to this day.

Never saw him live, I heard he was pretty volatile, but he made great early funky music. KTF, And keep well.

Always thought this borrowed heavily from Chairmen of the Board Everybody party all night 1974. Had the album but bought Bohannon's when working temporarily in London and it was regarded as funk in the clubs there

The Northern scene will adopt tracks of different genres if they have the right dance beat and sound that fits the scene, A few we have been dancing to for years are Frankie Crocker - Ton of dynamite, The Crow - Uncle Funk, angela Davis & The Mighty Chevells - my love is so strong

born in Newnan, Georgia, and learned the drums at school. He began playing in local bands, one of which featured guitarist Jimi Hendrix, before graduating from Clark College with a degree in music and secondary education.[2][3] After a brief period as a schoolteacher, he was recruited in 1964 as drummer in 13-year-old Stevie Wonder's touring band. He moved to Detroit in 1967, where he was employed by Motown
