    I used INSANITY 2005 to recover from chemotherapy. It's sentimental and I love it.

    I don't even need to lose weight, I've done Insanity 4 times just for the heck of it, and when I found out about Max 30 I was pumped again. Insanity Max 30 felt like I was going to die and the soreness is insane, even my fingers hurt, I'll tell you Max 30 is great I'm doing it for the thrill of it and sense of accomplishment. Bad thing is that my feet got blisters the first time I did Max 30! Yep burned my feet.

    So true about INSANITY! I'm on week 4 and I normally don't work more than a day or two per week. These last couple of days were brutal at work and I still did insanity but I'm exhausted beyond words afterwards. I work the rest of the week, hopefully I can make it through.

    • @BobSharpe
      @BobSharpe  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      marina n it becomes SUPER Insanity in that case! Way to go on balancing both - I know it's not easy when long hours and craziness happens at work. Are you able to get a good amount of sleep to balance it? That is my big struggle that I am always trying to focus on to help with recovering better.

  • @dominicanchu1ita

    I like that there aren’t as many breaks as in insanity - insanity really kicked my butt, you get 30 seconds every round of whatever amount of workout moves he has, insanity Max 30 only has 3 brief recovery periods and if you max out you can take a break but you have to be on your death bed to take a break. I just love that max 30 is shorter - the shortness makes me think it’s only 30 minutes - so I go harder.

    • @BobSharpe
      @BobSharpe  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      dominicanchu1ita that is a very good point in the break periods!

    • @dominicanchu1ita
      @dominicanchu1ita 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Bob Sharpe definitely! I find in the break times I tend to reflect on how tired I am, but the less amount of breaks I have, I don’t think about my fatigue, I just think I need to hurry up and get through this.

    Awesome review. It's always fun to hear other people's views on the things we do in common.
    I actually feel like the Max Out Sweat was harder than Fight #2 but those two are definitely a step up in intensity from anything else out there. I would also suggest people that are fans of both to build themselves a hybrid calendar where you're doing a couple of old school Insanity's a week and a couple of Max 30. Makes for a crazy new challenge if you get bored doing one (or both) of them repeatedly!

    • @BobSharpe
      @BobSharpe  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Steve Weisfeldt great suggestions! I can't deny that Max Out Sweat isn't a beast in itself...Shaun T really rocked it with the Max 30 workouts...they don't disappoint!

    I agree that Max 30 is easier to stick with, but when it comes to difficulty, I'd say only Friday Fight 2 matches how tough Max Interval Circuit and Max Cardio Conditioning were.

      Bob, what are the rules on eating when eating out or special occasions? For example, lets say it's a birthday and they want to go to an indian. If you know this is coming up in advance, do you fast for the day and JUST have the indian and carry on as normal tomorrow?

    • @BobSharpe
      @BobSharpe  8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      You could fast if you want to, or enjoy the cheat meal but keep it in a proper portion size (let's be honest, that can be the most difficult part...especially if it's really good).

    • @mijanhoque1740

      I generally skip the stretching on the original which cuts down rest of the workout to 28-32 minutes so same length as max 30. I prefer the original as it’s more intense and feel like it’s better for weight loss.

    Probs late to the party. Basically, for weight loss, would you prefer Insanity of Insanity Max 30? I'm on week 2 of Insanity Max, i was bedbound for 3 months, gained a lot of weight. I am 102kg and my ideal weight is about 92. I want to achieve this in 8 weeks. So trying to decide if i should do insanity or insanity max for the weight loss. And i will actually complete it. Obviously i take breaks and do modifiers for now but i am bathing in my own sweat afterwards.

    • @BobSharpe
      @BobSharpe  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      What I can say is even up to today, which is a few years after I did this video, I still do INSANITY Max 30 religiously...just did Friday Fight, Round 1 yesterday in fact within the Max 30 program 😃 I definitely like the shorter time but yet it still packs the punch to help you push towards the goals.

    • @Ash-gy3if
      @Ash-gy3if 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BobSharpe Thanks for the response. Yeah, i plan on doing T25 after the 2 months is up. Friday Fight is a killer. Today i have the Sweat intervals. I did a breakdown on insanity vs insanity max, and as long as you're maxing out, i'm pretty sure both are viable and very close to loosing weight. Although insanity is more cardio, it is, as you know..as important to shape your body which Max does. So yeah, i bought Insanity Max and i'll just continue on with that, sometimes i even go for a run in the afternoon.

    Insanity wastes lots of time on the start-up and warm-up before getting into the actual workout. That is why Insanity: Max 30 is tougher than Insanity, no stall time whatsoever. You get up and you keep moving till the timer is up.

    I am doing Insanity (normal version) for the 6th time within 5 years (I keep regaining the weight from poor nutrition and university is kicking my butt) I just finished month 1 and am in the recovery week and am now just debating whether or not I should switch to max 30 with school approaching again or just ride out month 2 of insanity then switch after. What are your thoughts?

    • @BobSharpe
      @BobSharpe  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I will tell you what I would do, but it all depends of course on your own personal preferences: Since school may get in the way and cause some time constraints I'd lean towards max 30 and try my hardest to keep up with the food plan. I absolutely understand the challenge of nutrition for sure when in that state, but at least the 30 mins can get you on your way to maintaining success!

      That’s true but if you were to get a 10 dollar membership at a gym for one year it’d still be cheaper to buy insanity because most gyms have an annual fee of like 40-50 bucks. plus you can do it at home, no time driving to the gym and walking around the gym not knowing what to do!

    Hey Bob, I just finished Insanity last week and now after a week’s rest I started insanity Max 30.. the workout was def burning my lungs which hasn’t happened as much when i was doing insanity.. but i noticed that calories burned during max 30 were significantly lower than insanity(duh! the duration!) but I was wondering if that would mean Max 30 won’t be as effective as Insanity?
    Your thoughts ?

    • @BobSharpe
      @BobSharpe  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a fair point that it does burn less calories; however I have found that people's peak heart rate has helped their endurance & VO2 max heart rate stay high throughout the day (in English...that means burning more calories throughout the entire day). Where the formula fits together in a perfect way is in the nutrition. Don't follow the INSANITY nutrition guide with max 30, follow the Max 30 guide which has programming for the assumed calorie burn alongside of what type of activity you do throughout the rest of your waking hours. Keep rocking it!

    I think if you start out with Insanity Max 30 if you starting to get back into shape it's 30 minutes a day in my opinion insanity is more for like it's a little longer about 45 minutes and it's more for like polishing up your body after you have finished Insanity Max 30 and you're looking for a challenge insanity will probably give me that challenge so I would kind of do the reverse I would use insanity max 30 it has a shorter workout setup about 30 minutes a day which anyone can do . insanity is more for an immediate and advanced because I had a friend he would tell him he will be sore every day and I made the suggestion to him why not try and Insanity Max 30 and your next cycle and switch back and forth with insanity and I also suggested to my friend why not try T25 and combine it with Insanity Max 30

    • @BobSharpe
      @BobSharpe  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Juliana Cerpas I still like Max 30 over Insanity (my humble opinion). The two big reasons: 1. I really enjoy the resistance-style tabata training that is included in Max 30, along with the awesome ab exercises. 2. The nutrition plan is spot on...easy to follow and works very well.

    So, I'm a guy and I've just turned 19, I'm 6'2" and 115kg. Now I'm ashamed of how I've let myself go over the years, I'm not afraid to admit that so I'm looking for an exercise option to do. I'm just about to start university or college as you might call it. My main goal is to loose all of this fat I've accumulated and as a bonus to build some muscle. I'm not a sporty guy due to my weight but I can cook and will have no problem with my diet. What do you think my best option should be? P90X, Insanity, Insanity Max 30 or even some other workout I haven't heard of. If you could advise me on what to do, I'd be so grateful because to be honest, I need to change and I'm up for the challenge. Many thanks.
