I had such high hopes for Doom Slayer. Lacking articulation and being massively overpriced killed this figure.
Some of the extra hands are pointless. You can get by with just a set of holding hands for most of his weapons.
Not to mention the bait and switch they did with the initial video reveal they change the scale and made it smaller and figured no one would notice.
might as well buy mcfarlane's for 20-30 dollars
he can pull off most of his in-game pose, but you need a degree to do it tho lol. Only thing that is limiting is the leg section. Storm should pick up the license, or Jada toys. McFarlane aren't any better, that thing looks like a mcdonald toys before I customize mine.

I feel like I dodged a bullet with the berserk sh figuarts. Was close to ordering them but I found the price point way too high. Been wanting berserk figures for a while but they are so expensive because they are all imports.
Whenever Im serious about buying a figure, I always try to check if you have made a video about it cuz I think you have the most critical and honest reviews on them.

Trunks and Zoro are two of my favourite childhood anime characters. Both of their figures sucking hurt me so bad. It's *shocking* how bad the QC on Trunks is, the design stuff itself is mostly good, but he is an absolute nightmare to mess with thanks to his QC. Zoro is the guy with genuinely poor design. Who decided that his robes should be that thick with no decent cut? His arms can't even make up for it because they explode when he's doing anything dynamic! And while you didn't review him, SHF Loid Forger rivals Trunks with the floppiness, another easy win that they messed up. Bandai are lucky they put out some bangers this year, because otherwise I'd be jumping ship.
Stop buying shf and they wont do this
You can fix Trunks with Kiki's Loose Joint Corrector or hopefully the reissue will fix the QC problems.
Theyre rereleasing trunks in april so maybe it wont be as bad.
I have the loose arm on my Trunks, but no sword or leg problems, got pretty lucky it seems. Great figure for me.
I don't know what Kiki's Loose Joint Corrector is but I followed a tutorial on TH-cam and all you need is super glue.
Trunks, Zoro, Doom Slayer, Griffith, and Guts were the 5 figures I wanted most this year. Every. Single. One. sucked so bad. I'm pretty much done with figures, I can't justify collecting anymore. It feels like these companies expect people to keep them in the box and never play with them...

Looks like Threezero Guts and Griffith are the only hope for better Berserk figures. Granted they’re 12-inch, I hope you review them as well, Anthony even if you rarely review 12-inch
It is disappointing, it's especially disappointing how figuarts quality seems to have fallen so much as they've risen in popularity.
They seem to have skipped out on additional paint apps, development time and qc in their drive to mass produce their figures. I slowed down my purchasing of their figures in 2022 and only got one or two of them in 2023 and doubt I'll buy another from them. It just doesn't feel worth the price when you can pretty much guarantee you'll likely end up with a figure that is mostly unpainted plastic, likely has weird sculpting choices, and/or will likely have wobbly joints or breaks itself when you try to pose it or even swap out for the extra parts and accessories.
@@TheZombiemofoI went thru that the moment they released the recolor editions of OG figures like SS vegeta and trunks and on. What was a premium collectible became some random unrespected line of figures with lots of QC issues. I sold my entire collection and only got one ssj4 goku left and probably will stay with him and one or two figures ever. Trunks was my way back into the line but seeing how bad the joints are. Hell nah.

I think it comes down to patience. These are not limited releases. So one just has to wait till release and check out the reviews. You can usually buy cheaper after release because they do go on sale.

The spiderman 3 pack was the last straw. Releasing the figures individually like a month later with face sculpts was a slap in the face from Hasbro. I wanna say Im 100% in the SH Figauarts camp but they seem to be cutting corners on some of their figs too
Worst thing is we knew Hasbro were going to do that. So predictable. But they keep doing it because it works for them. A lot of people buy those figures twice.
Figuarts is too expensive to be cutting corners like they do and I feel sorry for any poor soul who gets them via aftermarket at a 60% increase from retail prices only for it to fall apart in their hands, its like they are using knock off companies to make official products now
6:09 I’m so sick and tired of this particular Hasbro tactic. This is where the term “negative goodwill” comes into play. What’s funny is that Hasbro and McFarlane had only one entry each because this is a list of the top ten most disappointing figures of 2023. In order to be a disappointment, you have to at least some hope or expectation going in that it will be good. 😂

Except they didn't mislead people at all? They had SEVERAL times prior to that three packs release that Tobey and Andrew would get individual releases. Smh.
I don’t think it was so much that each of the three figures in the set received an individual release. I think it was that the individual releases came with the unmasked heads.
Hasbro was asking $90 for the box set which came with the three base figures, two additional sets of hands per figure, and one web effect per figure. For a total of $75, the three individual figures came with the unmasked heads and one set of additional hands.
Is it unreasonable for a collector to assume that if they pay $90 for the box set that the $25 individual releases will come with less than or equal to the same two sets of additional hands and one web effect?
Now there are two caveats to that. The first is that Hasbro may have told collectors that the individual releases would include unmasked heads prior to the release of the box set. If so, that proves your point. Case closed. I honestly wasn’t paying that much attention because I’m not a MCU collector, so others would have to confirm or deny.
The second caveat is that collectors could have simply passed on the box set and waited for the individual releases. Perhaps a case of “Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me”? That would be a valid point as well.
No matter how you slice it though, wouldn’t it have been far better to just include the unmasked heads in the box set in the first place? What was the justification for not doing so? Wouldn’t the additional $5 per figure cover the cost of the second set of hands and the web effect? If Hasbro wasn’t deliberately trying to sucker collectors into buying the figures twice, then what WERE they doing?

The Guts figure... That thing fell apart right in my hands. The crossbow holder snapped off, the leg was stuck, hands wouldn't stay in the pegs, and the weird sticky coating all over the armor.
The crossbow holder on mine snapped off too, I bent it like 90 degrees and it fell apart

That was my mistake. I watched a reviewer rotate it, so I thought it would be fine. I barely moved it when it just snapped off.

Figuarts QC has been the most coin flip it has been in maybe forever imo. I truly never know if I'm going to love a figure or open it once, get disappointed, and put it into storage. Trunks was the most disappointed I've been, probably ever in an action figure. The QC was truly shocking on that one.

We get legit criticisms unlike other vids I’ve seen where people talk about guts and griffin like they’re good figures now I know they’re normal joes who are just happy to have new plastic in hand I’m sticking with the expert who makes customs thanks for the list
I have a bootleg version of the trunks and honestly I enjoyed it so much, they fixed so many of the issues, the hips , from what I see were stolen off from the ssj4 Goku which makes them so much better, and none of the arms fall off, if the bootleg is better than ban dai trunks really deserves a spot on this list
Its crazy how SHF go from making things like the naruto figures, 2nd form frieza and turles to making figures like guts and trunks. Merry christmas!

I’d love to see Magneto on the Grim Reaper body, or at the very least a new body based around it.
My guts figure basically exploded the second i took it out of the package but im surprised on the griffith review, ive had plenty of SHFs that fall apart so i think it may be a coin toss across the board QC issue but i actually found him to be one of the better poseable armored figures I’ve gotten with very few faulty tolerance pieces. Main drawback was the domestic price point for me which was insane considering its 80-90 japanese retail.
Anthony, your review on Berserk line saved me financially and i will always grateful for that
While I had nothing breaking on number 4 (yet) and was to do some hero with guns and vanilla poses, I concede many of the criticisms such as the shoulders, paint application that doesn’t match the source material, tiny hands for the biggest “normal” arms in video game history, gappy joints that can be barely be hidden, hips not being strong enough for the weight of the upper body. It is indeed night and day when put next to what should have been the ideal partner.
I fixed my zoro by replacing his skirt with a cloth piece I got on eBay. Makes it so much better. Still doesn’t excuse how he came out of the box though.

I only have Trunks and the Slayer from this list, because I preordered them as a blind fan. Should’ve waited for your review, but they’re happily living inside their boxes. I am against people being consumerists, but I’m no better when it comes to a few items haha
I wonder you why imported figures cost so much in the west. For us buying in Hong Kong or Japan it’s about half the price you mentioned. If you consider it’s original price (normally SHF being 2x to 3x of marvel legends price for example) their accessory alone seem to make the figures ok instead of worst.

I cannot believe some reviewers can dance around all the issues with Guts and calling it perfect or a good figure. The price point is too high for that many problems.. But then again everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I have the Figma DoomSlayer, those long pegs connecting the body to the arms def make posing harder, wish there was some kind of mod kit for at least that, but not sure if anyone could fix that.

Wonderful Top 10 Worst List, Mister Anthony! Nothing negative about it at all. I had lovely fun! Indeed, these are some of the worst, most disappointing action figures I have ever seen! To the surprise of absolutely no one, 1 & 2 on this list (Guts and Griffith) are such exorbitant disasters! Ridiculously expensive figures-fall apart, floppy and ‘cheap’-looking! Rubbish!

I'm of the same mindset: price is always a consideration when it comes to best or worst. I got some figures at the 99 Store and they suck but they were 99 cents so what to complain about?

Always appreciate your reviews. Personally, I have one of these figures (Flash Batfleck) and one on preorder (Andrew Spider-Man, solo release).
For Batfleck, I completely get people's dislike of it and its flaws, it is just something that appeals to me in a way, just as a representation of the (at least for now, if not forever) last onscreen appearance of Ben in the role. I am mostly a Batman collector, specifically McFarlane as of late, and this one is far from the top of my favorite Batman figures, even this year. But do i regret buying him? No. Do I get upset seeing him on this list, objectively? No.
As for Andrew Spider Man, I'd be surprised to see him as a solo release on the list. But the three pack? Yeah, I get it for sure.

with how scarce Doom Action Figures are, I had to nab the Figma recently. At least he can pull off most of his in-game pose, fine accessories & looks aight in shelves. Pretty lackluster experience in toys department as a Doom fan myself tbh. Mine is fine btw, even though I had to pull out the silicone oil & hairdryer for "certain" parts, which shouldn't be a frickin' thing for a $100+ figure, smh.
I could honestly deal with all the QC issues I have with Trunks the biggest issue I have is the horrible scale... he's way to damn big and looks ridiculous displayed next to any other figure in the live.
Only one I disagree with is Porunga but I guess he's more so for die hard fans of DBZ because he looks damn amazing for toy photography the price is steep cost me $600 AUD but like I really also wanted Dende lol
damn bro i JUST bought trunks the day after christmas and got guts like last month😭 just for them to be in this list but to be fair the trunks sword sheath straps tend to pop out of their pegs and legs are wobbly. though the right arm pops out sometimes it’s really not as bad but still paying 70 for it and having that out the box is annoying bit of a let down. also seeing doomslayer on here hurts because i was tempted to get him but he’s so expensive.

I don't think we are ever going to get a good Eternal slayer, I had to bail on the figma one because it was asking for too much and I got the 12 inch one that released recently, it's basically the mcfarlane figure but bigger and with better paint and more stuff but it can't pose for shit

Top 10 worst list is my favorite. it's the most informative, these figures will often get praised by other reviewers and here we can get an honest detailed opinion on why these are objectively terrible and get a good laugh. I wish you made a top 10 worst list quarterly. Nothing about these feel negative to me.
Ok so weird enough but I got my Figma Doom Slayer from BBTS and it was a later release, mine looks much higher quality than the one in the vid, maybe they fixed the design after the first release of it?
I was SO hyped for the Figma Doom Slayer... ended up canceling my preorder after seeing reviews. That BFG he comes with is dope and I almost bought him just for that, lol. In the end, I just couldn't justify it at the retail price. Looks like I'll be holding onto my McFarlane for a while longer

From all the figures I got this year Guts is the most unfun one.
Like, you can pose him, but it's a chore, it's unfun. Making him look good takes a lot of work and not worth it. The knife falls all the time, the collar piece falls, too, the legs are loose, the arms aren't strong enough to hold the sword... Super disappointing release.
Yea, guts was just horrendous. Worst 100 bucks I’ve ever spent. Can’t believe that one went into production with the amount of problems it has.

Looks like not being able to afford the Berserk figurines saved me from a big loss of money. Too bad for Griffith who misses the opportunity to have a good figurine of him in his post-golden age armor.
I got the Zoro figure today even after watching multiple reviews I thought I can always return it if need be and I'm pleasantly surprised could it be better yes but I think he looks great my only issue was getting the sheaths in the waistband but now I've done it it looks good but I can see why he's at 10

I grab just about every Figuarts DB release but Pan and that Broly were the easiest passes for me. Not even a second thought. Porunga is overpriced but goes hard in my display. I love mine.
2023 was the year I finally took a step back and realized I was buying figures for the sake of buying figures. What does it matter if the figure is amazing if I'm not attached to what property it's from? What does it matter if I am attached to what the figure is from but the figure is boring or flawed? Love my collection so much more just buying figures from properties I like and only if they are good figures. Basically quit Black Series entirely with this new outlook. 😂

Agree with Guts.. when i received him in hand i sold him off within the next two days and cancelled my Griffin pre-order. I took a 10% loss on the resell. Hopefully Neca get the Berserk IP bc I feel with neca ability with sculpting and their recent D&D figures they would look phenomenal.

Sad they did such a bad job with the Berserk line. I had it in an ok pose and the hand fell off. Also the knife that pegs on his belt always falls off. Luckily I got it for 40% off during a black Friday sale. Figuarts needs to step up there game. Lots of bad figures for high price points.
damn SHF really took a tumble this year. Still love em overall but I think them getting all these long awaited IPs everyone’s been asking for years for has been more detrimental than helpful. Feels like they’re just rushing to put out releases like the Berserk ones which is such a damn shame I’ve wanted good Guts and Griffith figures forever.I really hope the quality improves as the line continues, and that this doesn’t seriously affect the quality for licenses we haven’t seen the figures released/revealed yet. Really need those Yu Yu Hakusho figures to be good, that Tamashii seal of quality starting to shine not as bright lol
The trunk figure is my worst figure of the year. His arm comes off when posing. but the biggest problem is the belt for the sword doesn’t want to stay on at all. I had two of them and both had the same problem. And the sword paint job wasn’t great. Mine had lines on it.
Thank you for pointing that out. I bought four Trunks figures. Every single one had loose ass hips. Everyone is coping on that release. Now they just sit in a box. The figure is not fun.

Yeah I decided to stick with my TOYBIZ Magneto and my McFarlane classic Doomguy, but I did pick up the stand-alone Tobey NWH Spider-Man and am happy with it.

Can't agree much at all. The Spider-Man 3 pack was a tad overpriced, and they did release better ones after, but the pack still is the best of the Integrated Suit, one of the best ASM2 figures there is, and a pretty decent representation of Tobey's NWH look. Also bought the Guts SHF, which might be one of my favorite figures I got this year. I didn't have any issues with mine, have him supporting the sword on his own on display. Doesn't even sound like you're talking about the same figures.

As of now Zoro prevented me into getting into the line. Will probably dive in once they make a version of him that could actually move. Hopefully by then we would get a Luffy with stretchy effect parts. $35 for base Luffy is nice but I got a feeling we may get a more complete one if the line does well.
I was waiting for this list! Just to see how many Hasbro/Marvel Legends were on it! Haha, it's always funny when people complain about a worst figure list, even though as you stated, that's the whole idea! Lol, just because a person still may like it, this is your list! Some are gonna be mad no matter what you say so if you don't like it?? Don't watch! It is very informative so you know whether to spend your money or not. This list was great and I agree with it 100%! Your reviews are very thorough and they're my go to for when deciding on certain figures.
Side note, $300 for one figure is already absurd! One like Porunga is just insulting!
I was really excited for the guts figure but when I saw the reviews its looked horrible they were saying it was good but jesus for 100$ it horrendous I appreciate your honesty on it i completely agree the figure is garage. Your reviews are always helpful and informative

The design choice for the hand peg on Guts is simply astounding. How they thought using a tiny peg like that was a good idea is beyond me, so disappointing.
I'm soooooo glad i missed those berserk figures. i was really hyped for them, I love my figma ones but I was hoping they would get even better from bandai but wow did those figures come out like shit.
I'm surprised gambit didn't make this list. More than 5 gambits in and aside from the head sculpt nothing has improved and its pretty much the same figure with the same bad articulation aside from that 2 pack but that's not even unique to gambit because it's basically a army builder.

Until I watched Anthony's review of it and it made me appreciate my McFarlane one more. Yeah it's not great, but at least it doesn't break.
Trunks is very worthy of the silhouette for the vid if Disapointmenting is a top criteria because it describes it perfectly. such a must have version of a character for DBZ collectors that it still hurts that his quality is so low considering he looks absolutely awesome. Where as pan or normal super Broly, them sucking is like who cares lol and it was pretty obvious from the promo photos.
