Great video!! 😊 Also just wanted to say, I passed my ABO today and you were a ton of help. I've been in the optical field for 5 years now and I've worked at a lot of different optical shops. From Walmart Vision center manager to luxottica and now Warby Parker. So now that I have my ABO I can't wait to continue to learn and grow and see where my optical journey takes me! Thanks for a the help :) Keep up the amazing work!
You are a regular mcguyver with all of your tools. Unfortunately, many optical places don't pay attention to the details like you do. We spend $800 to $1000 and still can't see.
It is a very long shot to be able to get a response on my question though, I have hope that you would still read in John and respond. I like your show for 2 reasons: 1) education they provide on every topic you cover, they are thorough and very well explained. 2) your shirts, I like the ones that you wear. Would you be able to share information on them and where to get them? The spectrum of colors on same pattern is a great style. Thanks and hope to hear back from you. Thanks again John for 2 great things!!!
LOL Columbia Mens PFG Bahama II series. I grab them from Amazon. That collection took me a few years to accumulate. Funny I live in hot SC and spend time on our boat but I only wear them when I'm shooting videos.
Comment about faceform and temple length: adding positive faceform effectively lengthens the temples. Fixing the negative faceform may have solved the temple problem without the need for lengthening.
Great video!! 😊

This is probably a stupid question, but what if you just pull out the temple tip out 1cm (10mm)?
It'll just slide right back in place as you put them on again.
Nice trick
I also pulled a rabbit out of a hat but that got cut in the final edit.
How to make acetate frames shine again?
Yeah - #1 on the next workshop to do list would be acetate repairs and refurbishing. Now all I need is to find someone to do it! John
What is the reasoning for putting the small pieces of metal? Why not simply pull the temple covers further down the temple?
Because they would just slide right back down again. Not all that much tension holding them in place.
