Tip hot water in the sink is much better for applying enough heat to the core, and also doesn’t make your plastic look all burned. Some plastics you don’t want to go full heat. Make sure you heat them long enough or they snap.
That’s what I always use too. I’ve found w plastic frames even hot water will remove the polish and give the plastic a permanent white hue. Don’t go full heat and let it soak longer. Metal frames I just heat it and they’re fine.
