Thank you for that video. I just bought my first PC Engine on Ebay and also ordered this fake Everdrive. Later on I want to buy the Super SD System 3 to even play the CD games. For now this thing should be enough. I can't wait to get it and play the games. I have never played on a PC Engine before.
@@AntiXGeeK nice. Actually I bought an SSDS3 about 5 months ago. Such a great device. I don't use fake flash carts anymore. I bought all Terraonion and Everdrives for my consoles. At first it seemed to be too expensive for me but now I don't want to miss these devices.
I have one of the original genuine Krikzz versions, it looks identical to this. I think they just straight copied the firmware. The region switch on the side is to tell the everdrive whether it's a US (Turbographx) or Japanese (PC Engine) system, as they have a hardware region lock on the cart slot.
Yeah, I have a Krikzz one too. I actually like the placement of the reset button on this knock-off rather better, because my sausage fingers struggle with the one on the Krikzz.
The software seems a copy of the V1 firmware of the official Turbo Everdrive. Looks like they didn't even bother to change the file date. The switch changes some connector pins around. Unlike the Mega Drive the games themselves aren't region locked.
I wonder if its possible to change the firmware, although I am not sure of any advantages of it. There are a few games that do not seem to work, but it may just be the supplied roms, or they required additional hardware not present on the ED. Its a shame most games do not have any sort of a save.
@@backofficeshow yeah the PC engine had an attachment to help you save with a few games and also had a CD system attachment call the interface unit(had built in save functions). i have a few repair videos/ RGB mod ones with the Interface unit (check out my channel if you like). the PCE Is a great system and its got a ton of attachments/ enhancements for it. As for the Switch. its basically an region switch from US to JPN. you just need to keep it on PCE.
Spooky! I have an identical console with the same everdrive and gold sticker lol! incidentally, regarding "Strip Fighter" there are duplicate versions in the other folders, both the Alpha and Numeric ones so if you haven't discovered them already these are the "Adult" versions that you may want to delete before you let the kids loose on the system! :-)
@@backofficeshow Cool! I have also been playing Atomic Robo kid a lot! I can get past the first big boss but not much further lol! Also Turrican is well worth a go, nice animations! :-)
Hi Andrew. The High Score Challege has been accepted with Magician Lord by fellow Neo-Geo contributors Betty Horde Clinic, MarcBlaster The Gamer and retroredsteve. I think you'll like what they offered and if you still like to join in on the action, we would love to see yours as well.
You do need the original hardware to use an everdrive. This device let's you play the software on the original hardware. The altera takes the roms from the SD card and demodulates it to the pins expected by the system. As the pc engine/turbografx didn't use extra chips like sram or mappers addressing the pins is identicle to the official rom cartridges.
My dad just got the same thing you have. He got it today on ebay from Hong Kong for $58 I like your video that helps me investigate it i have a turbo grafx 16 that my best friend gave me 5 years ago. I have a show on you tube about gaming and Russian cartoons you can subscribe to my channel if you want. It's gonna come in a while since my dad got me the same thing today it's coming from Hong Kong as I said
Agreed, you should support the developer. Also the updates and quality of life improvements and tourbleshooting he offers are great. Also the first revision that was Ines is sub par. The resistors act to attenuate the data signals from the eprom and altera but the later versions use real data buffers and is much better.
Wow, the sticker is tacky. Why did you put it on? You have a Core Grafx, not a fugly Turbo 16!
Im still waiting for mine, the pce tg16 is to select if you have a pc engine or a turbografx console 😉
Hopefully it will be with you soon, then you can start smashing R-Type and Raiden!
@@backofficeshow got it and works fine, no watch on mine though !

I have a terraonion ssds3 :) works great

There's a cheap-ish megadrive cart on ebay. Probably a clone. But comes with case.
Excelent Cardridge, funcionality,I´m Buy for one this, excelent product...
Got mine from ebay.. NOT dissapointed 👍
The "Slideshow" ROMS are not for kids either.
Gotcha Andrew. Thank you.

I have an american TurboGrafx-16. It’s awesome
A good platformer to play is Blue Blink.

I'll have a check tomorrow and see if it is on my MVS multicart
I prefer original physical hardware..just me
I think it's pretty common. Emulators always are a poor substitute. You need the controllers etc to get the full experience
