Trains at Lage(Lippe) with semaphore signals, Eurobahn Talent and FLIRTs

Lage (Lippe) is a town with approx. 35,000 inhabitants in East Westphalia-Lippe, and is located approx. 18.5 km southeast of Bielefeld. The station is located on the Herford - Himmighausen (-Altenbeken) and Bielefeld - Barntrup (-Hameln) railway lines and still has semaphore signals. For passenger traffic, the station has two island platforms, each with two platform tracks. The meanwhile unused main platform lost its long unused track during the last modernization in 2014. The still quite extensive track system testifies to the former importance of the station for freight traffic in the region. With the decline in rail traffic in the area, and the resulting closures and demolitions, the Lage (Lippe) station lost its importance. The station lost scheduled long-distance traffic in the 1980s, and since then only local trains have been running here.
