Again, not defending the violence, but are we really comparing an extreme reaction of the Republican Party to overthrow the government and overturn The Constitution, where the worst case scenario is a lost 4 years of presidency to an unfavorable candidate over the idea that it was "rigged" (which you still have absolutely no evidence for fyi), to Black individuals who are fighting for the right to their lives and to exist at all among others? FFS, I am a NZ'er living in Korea who has never been to the USA, and in December 2020, I saw multiple tweets/messages about how "Jan 6 will be wild."
I knew 4-6 weeks before that something, whatever it was, was going to go down.
There isn't even a 0.5% chance that this was unintentional. They all knew what was going down, and now that the truth is catching up to them, they are shaking like autumn leaves.

Well, everyone knew about the rally. That had been planned for months. So it wasn't readily available to the public that Trump planned to incite a riot. No one could have predicted what happened that day. We expected a strong protest, people chanting their "Stop the Steal" rhetoric but a violent insurrection was unimaginable. We've never had it happen before in our lifetime, so why would we believe it could have happened at all? We gave them too much credit for having an ounce of common sense. Unless you were directed in contact with the Proud Boys, or QAnon, or the Oath Keepers then you did not know about the violence that ensued after Trump's rally.

Since we are or were, a civil country, it would have set a bad image to have the Capitol turned into a military fort. Second, it really wasn't expected that Americans, supposed "patriots" would do something so horrendous and antithetical to our democracy as to attack the Capitol with intent purpose of overturning the election results with violence to install Trump.
