    This Anastasia was based on a woman who claimed she was Anastasia. Though her case didn't go through because of WW2, it was weird to note that she have the same medical circumstances like the duchess. Some say the dog died along with them during the killing and that no one survive that day, not even the servants and doctor.

    In real life Anastasia and Alexei were very close, neither of them liked sitting still for long and they both liked mischief and pranks (you could write a book just about their pranks and funny things that they did!), Anastasia soon learned that her little brother was always game for a spot of mischief and they seemed to be able to read each other's minds.
    Alexei had a limp after an accident in 1912, he had a hernia so they fixed it with surgery (the idea being by the time of the 300 year anniversary of Romanov rule festivities the year after he would be fully recovered and well enough to take part) but then he had a minor bump jumping into a boat which he seemed to recover from but then not long after while on holiday in Poland he started bleeding and wouldn't stop bleeding and for days on end he was at death's door and the priests even administered the last rites because everyone thought he was a goner but then Rasputin saved him by sending a telegram with useful advice and he started getting better. It was a year before he could walk again and incidentally at the 300 years celebrations he hurt his ankle or something and had to be carried about by a giant Cossack which didn't help the rumours about his health; the public didn't know what was wrong with him but they knew something was up.
    One of Alexei's most famous pranks took place on his 13th birthday which it so happened was the day before the Imperial family left the Palace for the last time. Alexei posed for a photo by a lake with his eldest sister Olga and as he later wrote in his diary "threw Olga fully clothed into the lake!"
    They knew Joy was Alexei's dog when they found it in the Ipatiev house because it understood English.

      All the daughters were ‘initially’ unharmed. They were murdered primarily with bayonets. They were absolutely killed around the same time as their parents. The Bolshevik soldiers fired hundreds of bullets.

    • @missyrose2154
      @missyrose2154 ปีที่แล้ว +86

      The murder was absolute caos and took 20 minutes to complete which is just horrific . Many of the soldiers didn’t want to shoot the girls so they tried not to aim for them . Initially many of the female family members survived because they had sown jewels into their under garments essentially creating body armor . Because of this the soldiers panicked and kept wildly shooting before finally bayonetting the victims to death . According to the account 2 of the children when taken out somehow were still alive and so they were stabbed again. The execution was completely bungled and made a horrific situation so much worse

      @@thenablade858 “It was one of the great mysteries of the 20th century. In the early hours of July 17 1918 a Bolshevik firing squad killed Russia's last tsar, Nicholas II, together with his wife, four young daughters and son. The Romanov family were dug up in 1991, formally identified using DNA samples, and reburied in a St Petersburg cathedral.
      But two of the Romanovs were never found. The bodies of the tsar's heir, Prince Alexei, and his sister Princess Maria were missing. Archive evidence suggested the pair had been buried away from the others. But repeated digs at the leafy spot on the outskirts of Yekaterinburg in southern Russia, where the remains of the rest of the family were found, failed to reveal a resting place.”
      Some speculate that she might have gotten away and been killed/buried elsewhere. No one knows for sure though. Maybe you should pay more attention before making accusations.

Nicholas died instantly but several members of the family were only injured, writhing in their own blood on the basement floor as caustic gunpowder smoke filled the air.
      Their leader, Peter Ermakov, was drunk at the time and only managed to hit Maria in the thigh as she tried to run for the doors.
      Panicking and fearing the cries would be overheard at street level despite the rumble of the truck, the revolutionaries set about them with bayonets, running the tsarina and her children through and firing at their heads. The violence lasted a horrifying 20 minutes, with one of the killers later recalling that the scene was as slippery as the surface of an ice rink, according to historian Simon Sebag Montefiore.
      Two of the girls were still breathing when the bodies were carried out, a fact that has been cited as the origin point for the myth of Anastasia’s escape.
      In fact, the only survivor of the massacre was Alexei’s pet spaniel Joy, who was subsequently rescued by Colonel Paul Rodzianko of the British Expeditionary Force and brought to live in Windsor.”

    • @thekingsdaughter4233
      @thekingsdaughter4233 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your second cousin is healthy (and you are, too) , that's not a problem. Hemophilia doesn't spontaneously occur when you marry a close relative. The problem was that Alix of Hesse was a _carrier_ of the gene for hemophilia. There was a 50:50 chance she might not have been; in which there should have been no problem. Incidentally, if memory serves, DNA tests showed that only Anastasia was a carrier, besides the boy actually being a sufferer. The three older girls were healthy. 🤷

      I think it is fair to day that, examining the evidence that we have.
      Showing the real way that it all happened, would have been too adult of a topic for this movie.
