Hey thanks for watching the video!
Congratulations to Arjen and Anneke. Growing the farm by 1000 acres in 3 years is a great accomplishment.
For as dry as you have been, it is great to see water sitting on your fields. May frost come out and let most of the water seep in.
Bravo to your folks for being able to get some more land. So glad that it's going to continue to be farmland and help feed the world. Your folks are always doing something every year to make the farm bigger and better and they continue to do so.
Congratulations on the new land purchase! I look forward to see what you do with it.
Congratulations on the land purchase
Its great to see how you always keep developing the farm💪 🇳🇱🤝🇨🇦
Awesome cold start
Great video, you are a deep thinker, Jan and good at explaining what you are doing. So happy that you were able to buy more land....worth more than gold by far.
I'd love to hear his sister's comment on your assertion. LOL!
When I see water running in ditches it takes me back to my childhood on the prairies. I would save Dairy Queen banana split boats and run the rapids in the ditch. There was always a naval battle at the end. Fun times. Cheers from Regina.
Congratulations on the land.
If your sister can get some value-added revenue from her cheese making that will also be a great bit of diversity for your family's business.
spring has sprung!... good job getting land!
Great opening!!
Glad you liked it!
and plumbing that works!!
Wish to some sunshine in time April is a rain You got snow . It hard for me to eat breakfast in the morning because I can't look away It is so great of videos ..Granny USA.
Awesome farm! Im not a farmer so its hard for me to comprehend that much land. It looks like to me your doing a great job.❤
Getting more land around the farm must be welcome. The perks have a good start with all the water.
It is good to be able to increase the farm acreage, especially when it can be done by purchasing acres close to the farm and adjacent to existing acres. Best of success with the new land.

Glad u guys are expanding the farm
Congrats on the land acquisition! 👍🏻
Hurrah to you folks on your land purchase! 😊👍
Great seeing the farm grow.😊
Congrats on new land. Salute 🫡 to all the great farmers starting with you and your family.
Jon.
The new land looks great, happy for you and your farm family.
Thank you for the video of the new land. Please take care. 👍👈👀
Than you for sharing your thoughts and opinions with us 😊
Congratulations on your land purchase. I am enjoying your narration with your videos. It is good that you are back. 👍🏻
Congratulations on the new land! It’s always a pleasure to add to one’s farm.
Congrats on the new land. Always nice to get land that’s close to home and already owned stuff!
Congratulation on expansion of the farm. Will require more work, but the benefits will be good. Thanks for posting this video!!!
So very happy for you, new growth is always very exciting. God Bless you and your family!!
A pasture/field aerator would help dry the ground out quicker and provide good cavities for the manure to sink through.
Congratulations on the land acquisition. Glad to see it available, close to your farm and be able to grow. Looking forward to your field work.
Loved the intro, been a fly fisherman reminds me of a spring creek.
Congrats on the new ground
Can't wait till you get out in the fields doing work and congrats on getting more land to feed your cattle.
Congrats on thr new land aquisision and close to your base 1/4 to boot -- good luck in the future -- Dairy -- Crop -- Goats -- Cheese -- Beef sales -- Maybe a farm Market in the future ????? Close enough to Saskatoon?
Thanks Jan for showing the "new" land which hopefully will supply you with a lot more fodder. Greetings from Australia
That was so interesting, thank you for taking the time for a chat...
Congratulations to the family on the land purchase.
You need a big overflow pit next to the current pit. Build the new pit close to the main pit, drain the main pit way down, blow a big hole in the wall and rig up some big ditch culvert pipe to go between the two. Your concrete guys can handle that build easy!
Or … tells the girls to stop pooping everywhere 😎
Bad idea, with that sand it would plug up. Need an overflow weir at about 8 inches from the top at the far end so it only gets liquids.
@@jay90374 That's what I was thinking, a second pit filled only by the over flow you described.
Exciting to see you expand your farm. Hoping this year gives you the needed rain for great crop yields. Could you build an overflow pit next to the existing one? I could not imagine how bad it was for the poor cow swimming in the liquid manure. Great advice at the end also. Thanks Jan till next time.
You make good videos. Glad you’re back to vlogging your daily routines.
You can always look into what it would take to expand your manure what are lagoon pet. You can always scrap the idea if it takes too much. To do but it is your choice.
Saturday video yahoooo 🇺🇲🇺🇲
Reminded me of the fun I had watching the spring melt on our farm at Blackie AB.
Loved the new techniques you’ve picked up in videography! Also enjoyed the mic’d up Jan while working! Congrats to the farm on growth and best wishes for many prosperous years 😊
Great video. Very informative. Good luck with the new land
Good video.
Thanks for visiting!
Good thing your family is diversifying in cheese!
Great stuff. Whatever you grow don't forget your international competitors, they grow stuff to sell also. Buyers can pick and choose or not buy from you. Cheers from Edmonton.
Congrats on the new land. Love seeing the water flowing! I grew up in Western North Dakota! Now, I live in SW Florida!
Now if you had a clothing store be rubber boots, overalls & tee shirts 😉. Well it is great to get more ground 👍👍
Great vid once again 👍
Great shots right on the beginning, we could see, how that land looked like before it was cultivated.
Gracias amigo Jan. Interesante la adquisición de los nuevos terrenos que representa la expansión, más siembra y mejor cosecha en la cadena alimentaria para el ganado.👍👍
We always do the oil, all filters clean it all up aka full service before winter storage 😊
I've seen the guy on Sonne Farms channel mention that they pay an advisor. I don't know the technical or official title of the farming expert they hired but it obviously helps to get opinions which can greatly increase chance for profit but also reduce chance for costly mistakes.
Great intro
Absolutely lovely intro I just love spring
Congratulations on the new land bud
Congrats on the land buys. A man can always need more land. In Wisconsin we have a tractor and hose putting the manure in the ground. They have a drop tank and tractor and pump. The trucks pull up and load up the tank on the road. Not sure if you ever seen it but it keeps equipment in feilds to a minimum.
Congratulation.. great video
Hi Jan. I'm real happy the farm is prospering. Like I said before: "It's ALWAYS about the POOP!!" it will be interesting to see how the spring pans out, yes?
We got 20 cm of snow (Wed/Thurs) in Montreal. It is melting pretty quickly now. We are gearing up for the Eclipse Monday, Since we are on the Western Edge of the passage. We have a roof terrace on our building so we have a prime viewing location, 20 stories up. Hope all is well.
Very nice cold start Jan
Love these amazing videos!! From Ontario 🇨🇦♥️
I'm happy to see you happy about the culvert water flow! I do remember you stating that drought has been a big problem but you generally don't complain so much as state how the issue is mitigated. A real trooper!
Hello Jan, good to see you hard at your work. I enjoy your fresh attitude you have towards the work that is there for you and your family. Canada looks like quite the place, wide and open spaces. Here in Minnesotsa we have lots of tree's and lakes. Be careful with your life, don't get too wild and crazy on your off time. Tom in Minneapolis. See you one the next one.
Very exciting news about adding more land to the farm. It would be great to be able dig a pond and try to store some of than runoff.
Ferdinand smiles seeing hair face
The land waking up from winter’s slumber; nice dubs…oooo - yellow hose…“I want to ‘breathe’ free”…yellow subs might work better…hot brown cranking…not the blue lagoon…great use of the mic; love hearing the self-talk; did not hear the intrusive thoughts 😉…tread on not-so-thin ice…shiny blues doing truck talk; been a while; glad to see it…grow baby, grow!...join the club?
Loved that intro! Great work!
Nice to have all your land nice and close It is worth alot more being close
Might need another big tractor for the extra land!
Great to have some more land. 50% extra in a couple of years sound good. Getting some acreage so close to the farm sounds ideal. Will you be looking to grow more of your feed stuffs? Can you get a tall tank to hold the over flow? Perhaps pump mainly liquid out of the lagoon and leave the sand behind for the crawler to sort out. Will you get some more milking cows to provide for Miryam's cheese project? More cows = more manure!!
Omg I love the scenery. I've never been to Canada. ❤
Nice intro music. Love to you and your family.
Are you allowed to spread on frozen ground with snow still on it? I know it is not ideal to try to spread liquid manure when it is still cold out, but it could be your solution to having too small of a pit. It might be better to spread on frozen ground than to create large ruts in your fields because it is too soft. And I do understand that you might need an excavator to break the ice up to get the pump in the lagoon.
I knew a former dairy farm worker from Wisconsin who did that. Different time and jurisdiction, I know (late 20th Century), but it worked for him.
@@kevinwalsh1619
In my area, I know some farmers spread dry manure all winter long, but not liquid manure.
Use a leaf blower on the air filter if you have one. The high pressure compressed air can tear the paper filter and render the filter no good.
Great news on the expansion. Can you do a drone video on all land from the dairy.
You are so hard working.. I saw your every video n you inspired me to work..last 1 month ago I bought 2 cow n I start dairy farming because of you.. thank you ..n all the best n make video daily they inspired us . Love from India
My guess is the lagoon can never be too big as well as having a surplus of land to spread manure on while working around wet spots & staying away from natural water runs. Being able to pick up additional farm land that is reasonably close to the main farm isn’t always available so glad you had a chance to purchase additional acres.
Congratulations on your land purchase. With the inconsistent weather you have been having wonder if raising cattle would be beneficial to your operation.
Congrats! Get the Boat! craw-ler craw-ler craw-ler! That's fine. Have you done the math to calculate the volume of 2mm of liquid across the surface area of your lagoon?? That would be a cool nerd stat.
2mm of liquid would be 1,503 US gallons in their 175' square lagoon. Less than 1/6 of their spreader's capacity.
@@MellowYe77ow SWOON!
👍👍
Congratulations.....make it count now
There's always that time in the spring when you want out there but it's a bit too wet. Your land is so flat and the water is moving hard. That's a big spread, even for Sask. good for you guys. How come I never see you spit? I know you dip. Your audio is getting great. Good video. Pax.
How do you know he dips?
Congratulatins!
Awesome drone shots at the beginning and you found a stream! The alfalfa and rye should get a good start this year. I am glad you also found a solution to your manure problem. Good luck hauling.💩
Great video Jan good farm land expansion, are guys thinking of maybe a liquid manure silo or backup lagoon expansion at all?
I dont recall hearing if covering the lagoon would be a worthwhile investment to decrease it being filled by rain water? I know nothing about farming but curious to hear if it would be enough of an impact to be helpful.
If you put a cover over the manure pitt it will save a lot of storrage😂
You really need to develop underground storage for water so you’re resistant to droughts with all that farm land.
Aww I was bummed you didn't use a M80 to clean the air filter. We tried it at the end of last season. I think it works better than an air hose.
Congratulations on the Land purchase.
3100 acres sounds better than 1254 hectares. ;)
Its time to update the tractors, a 65kmh fendt would work well
Congratulations on the land.
Is it your mom who's the cheese expert?
Sister
Thats great to hear Jan. Are you planting Triticale this year?
Summer is coming man it will be here before u know it and we all will busy as bees😊
Purchasing more land is saving money in the end it’s less products you have to purchase hopefully saving money in the end as long as Mother Nature is kind , that’s the way family farms can survive yes more labor hours if everyone will help but it’s a win win situation ✌🏻👍🇺🇸
Hello from in the Uzbekistan
You are a young man, buy everything LAND you can
🇨🇦👍
for how rainy it has been we cant get in the filed we are hauling manure next week
