The second the band walked out together with Dave at the MTV Awards, and at that point, Mitch knew he couldn't stay in the situation... Sounds like now at this stage, he is just wondering what could have been. He made the decision that was right for him at that particular time. We all make choices in life that we have to live with.
This would make a good topic for Dr. F. Like, "when DLR left VH and they had to find a replacement, who are three candidates (not Sammy) whom youthink would have been interesting?"
I don’t see how this guy can claim he was in Van Halen. He played no shows, never played on any officially released music, and the band never claimed him as a member. His story about coming close to being the singer might be interesting to some. It seems like he’s overplaying his hand.
Ralph always has to shit on Hagar! And I'm here for it!! Haha!! Look, I get it that he got screwed with the David Lee Roth situation. But, what the hell is he complaining about? At least he can say he was in van halen.
Actually, years ago I downloaded and cleaned up Malloy's cover of "Panama" as well as the Belcher-esque tune you talked out , for my personal VH archive. I agree that old Mitch would have been a continuation of the vanilla pop rock direction pursued with Sammy. He's also being an attention starved loser for even brining it up. Not sure if the brothers were motivated by dollar signs or spite when choosing replacement singers for Dave and then Hagar. Seems to me that they could have sought out a singer with similar swagger and lyrical writing ability if they truly wanted to and at least tried to come close to the glory days instead of what we eventually got. I agree that Cherone could handle Dave Era tunes respectably, but his stage persona and bleached short hair came across as creepy and fruity. It is what it is and I'm good with cherishing the '78-'84 era and leaving it at that.
Dude loves for people to know he was almost in the lead singer in Van halen, that's why he's always harping on about it, because he thinks it will help his career since it's the closest he will ever come to being important.
Honestly, I must admit that I never heard of the guy. He reminds me a little of some dude in my hometown who we all considered a poser (but the girls loved him). This dude was always telling is he was involved with big names in the music business, or bragging that he was going on a european tour with his band. We never saw any proof of it.
Who…? Moving on, I just read that Sammy just screwed over Jason Bonham. He was ready to re-join the tour after tending to his sick mother and was told his services were no longer needed
It is sad that he's whining about this. He should just be thankful to even have worked with the brothers to begin with. I liked the demo, but I like AOR, so that's why. Mitch is actually a great singer and songwriter. His first solo album is phenomenal, and Mitch Malloy II is a great AOR album. I know that this music isn't for everyone, but check it out if you're interested. He was totally wrong for Great White, though.
Ok I just watched it, the girl with the big bouncing hooters stole the show. The verse sounded ok, definitely in that pop Hagar vain, almost reminds me of Algeri in Journey for some reason. I'm ok with pop VH but the chorus just didn't have a hook that was very memorable. Interesting, thanks for pointing it out. Only news that matters ❤
i’ve been a fan of the Mighty VH since pretty much my whole life and i never knew about this dude or this story…VH would be my favorite band of all time if it had been DLR only…you rule Dr. Fukk! 💥 💥 🍕 💀s 🤘🏼
I think I started the thread he went weird in.... lol ... started out nice... heh, I mentioned I thought this new mix was improved over the first.... Oh its deleted..edited to say I tried to go back but the Vid is gone
The best way I can think of VH with the Sammy years is that it was Mainstream music for everyone. Alright! Yeah! - That's sarcasm folks. The Roth years is more like smut. The section of the store of the grit and dirt, where the grown ups are only allowed to go. That guilty pleasure where instead of anticipating next months pinup centerfold lady, you anticipated the next VH album of ear porn goodness. My ears never had it sound so good! Lol! If Alex Van Halen and David Lee Roth decide to start a new band under a new band name along with a new vision with new original songs, I'm more than obliged to help.
Yeah I didn't know he was in the band and I will forget that he was in the band. Hey he's got bragging rights and he's been and did a lot of cooler stuff than me but not a lot of people care or will ever care because he didn't record any albums with the band. You're right too, only Dave can front Van Halen and make them Van Halen.
I can’t not sing along to the ending of this song from Jaws and another older movie with him singing…..cool tune…also good choice it gets stuck like and ear worm, and I mean that in a good way.
Even Bonzo Jr is bailing on Belcher's tour. Maybe the guilt of earning $ off the memory of not one, but TWO dead rock legends, his Dad being one. Why the hell did he have his Dad's face on his kick drums?
What the hell is going on here today Ralph? He decided to not join…..so I do not get it at all. He’s the one that released a video talking about his time. Saying..”I wanted them to get Dave back too…” He’s got no reason other than to be mad at himself. His voice isn’t that great now either….. 3:20 “Bitch said…” 😂😂😂!!! 28 years later….LSD too? My lord! wtf is he talking about. His career ended up putting him singing with little power in Great White, and I was like this sucks.. Gary looked weird onstage, but his voice did deliver more than I thought. Sammy told Gary good luck because he didn’t know what to do with the songs from VH 3….same with Can’t get this stuff no more, and Me Wise Magic….the matter one of the most requested DLR songs for those last 3 tours. Awesome Only News That Matters…..SCHAMAKAMAGOB!!!
Honestly I think Mitch wld had been fantastic in VH . The tribute he did w Pete Thorn was excellent. That Right time song is pretty damn good. Imagine Eddie on guitar it wld have been great. Mitch seems like a great guy too.😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊Great show Ralphy!
Sammy Hagar calls Dave a bad singer and his lyrics trite! Funny ... Mitch Malloy could ape Vangina no problem - by bellowing platitudes in an absurdly high register, but couldn't begin to try and incorporate something closer to Roth's vocal approach. Van Halen gave rock and roll a much-needed injection of Chuck Berry style, and I can't hear any of that in what they've done after 1984, which sounds like it's inspired by motivational tapes or networking seminars. Sammy Hagar did something during his lockdown live music series that proved he just doesn't get it. He sang a cover of 'Heroes', quite well as it happens, except that he decided to leave out the third verse! In his mind, that's not the anthemic high point of the tune, it's where it veers off from ego-stroking platitudes - like, the universal words-and gets oddly specific and kinda arty .... but that whole Berlin trip just ain't the Sammy way! (Never mind the interesting food for thought the verse could have offered regarding tyranny in the parallels between the Berlin Wall and imprisonment under lockdown. If that notion ever occurred to him, it would, no doubt, have just added one more reason why that third verse needed to get the boot). So why the hell did he cover Bowie at all? To show some range (gravelly baritone instead of yelping tenor), that's all. Sammy seems to be a gregarious and pretty callow sort of chap, but musically I hear hardly any soul,
Mithchell is hilarious. "THEY WONT TALK BOUT ME", lol, shit all there is, is Alex and he isnt even talking about the other 2 actual lead singers, why should he mention some bum who sang on a demo the band sent him? Boy oh boy this rejected 80's solo star needs to get off his knees and get a job. I heard Trump has a new job, maybe Mitchell could replace him, at McDonalds.
Doesn't this Mitch Malloy character remind you of an old woman whose self-identity was based on guys telling her all her life how good she looked, and then fell apart after hitting the wall?
"He decided not to join....." HaaaaaaHAHAHA! Like he had a real shot!
“Bitch, I mean Mitch” 💀 dude that killed me 😂😂
DUDE NEEDS TO RELAX.

Memo to Mitch : Take your Meds. 😂❤
Putting I was in Van Halen on your resume is like Putting I was convicted of a felony on your job application.
"i wish no body knew" No one does know I've never heard of him to begin with
I must admit that until I watched this FNN article I had never even heard of Mitch Malloy...
he's got that early nineties Micheal Bolton vibe.
I 'd heard about Malloy years ago. Man... in bands, your in or your not. no bitchin about it!
They should have recruited John Sykes for vocals in the 90's, only if Roth was not up for a reunion yet by then.
This would make a good topic for Dr. F. Like, "when DLR left VH and they had to find a replacement, who are three candidates (not Sammy) whom youthink would have been interesting?"

@@kevinschoenfeld6294 wrong. He was in Van Gina.
We had a wicked chemistry. But it wasn’t “interesting” enough for him. Guy is so full of shit it’s coming out of his ears.
Thank you Doc
This guy is like a clone of Fabio and Yanni all in one...!

proper assessment of VH3
Mitch Halen! what a legend! NOT!
Sammy Hagar BELCHER LOL 😂😂😂😂
Little known fact Mic Mallory was Sammy Belcher Hagars first wife before Belcher divorced him to marry Michael Anthony Belcher.
I did not know that!
I had heard the rumor from the old National Enquirer...lol
Yes it is true ...but the marriage was shorter than his stint in Van Halen
Well, he was talking about the Van Halen 3 stuff, I get that part.
Mirch Malloy-"I was almost in Sammy" lol
Haaaaaaaa😂😂😂😂😂!!! Nice!
Who…? Moving on, I just read that Sammy just screwed over Jason Bonham. He was ready to re-join the tour after tending to his sick mother and was told his services were no longer needed
Yep, was reading about that earlier
@@BlindArthurBlakebut he’s doing it for the fans….😂
Only dude on the planet besides Gary Cherrone that wants Sammy Hagar’s Sloppy seconds 😂
Mitch Malloy is Mad as hell and he's not gonna take it anymore! 😅
My God, he even looks like Sammy did in the 90s.
It looks like the so-called """"original AC/DC singer"""" Dave Evans has a new friend In town
Dave actually was in the band, this douche hung out for day.
Dave Evans actually played shows with AC/DC.
@@ItsDannyDeethat's a fair point
Dave Evans had a HIT SINGLE with AC/DC, albeit only in the local Sydney charts (which wee a thing in those days)
Mitch who?
I’ve never heard of Mitch Malloy, is he from any other band? Maybe it’s better if I don’t know.
The title is priceless 🤣
Never even heard of him till now. ...and I hope this is the end of it. Lol
Do you think Jeff Scott Soto would have been a decent fit for Van Halen?
No. And I am a fan of Jeff.
@almosthuman56 yeah you ARE right only DLR.
Mitch had nothing new to bring to the band Sammy had Montrose and multiple solo hits before joining the band.
Gary Cherone had a hit before Van Gina as well. A number 1 hit. Something Belcher never had. It did not help Gary none.
Did not know Malloy was with VH, kinda like Mark St. John with KISS. A flash in the pan.
But Mark St. John actually played on Animalize..
I agree. No DLR no VH!

When will we be hearing from Patty Smyth? 😅
I would love to hear a podcast with Mitch and Ron Keel talking about their respective times in Van Halen and Black Sabbath.
hahaha
I bet they would stretch it out for a few hours 😂
@@ModernDayWarrior2112LMFAO!
