Apart from ridiculous power, Tyson had a flawless punching technique. Tight box, no wind-up and unmatched hip, core movement from which his power was generated. He also knew how to use the jab to make way for the right hand.

When I was in the golden gloves in 1980 Holmes was training in Minnesota for a title fight against Scott ledoux, we went and watched him train 3 times, maybe only 50 people there, I'll never forget watching him spare ringside and hit the heavy bag from 20 feet away, got his autograph and a bunch of pictures, his punching power was unreal

The great thing about this version of Tyson is that he didn't rely on one punch knockout power. He put together combinations to put away opponents and it was far more effective. While Holmes was obviously past his prime, he was still too smart to knocked out by just one big punch. But Tyson at his peak was throwing incredibly fast and strong punches in combos. This is why Holmes has said that Tyson wasn't the biggest puncher he'd ever faced but he was certainly the sharpest big puncher, he'd ever faced.

Even if Larry was prime Holmes, it would be more interesting, he'd have used his reach and probably stuck the jab more, but let's be honest he'd still lose. There are very few boxers i'd give a 50/50 chance to win against a Prime Iron Mike.
Nah that's wishful thinking. I am glad Tyson beat Larry because I hated what he did to Ali, but if we're being honest Tyson would've lost to Holmes in his prime as well as many others.
