I'm learning blues harp and think I'm ready to start playing with a buddy of mine who plays acoustic so thanks for this informative video it was help full
Thanks, Mike! This open mic is at a popular coffee house about 30 mins from my house. I know you're a fellow coffee lover. Do you have a favorite style of brand of coffee?
How do you handle tips? Do you tip out each participant after they play? Is there even a tip jar? If there’s a tip jar does the host keep them? Just wondering what the normal protocol is when it comes to a tip jar.
Long time musician, I've played since I was a kid, but i haven't performed anywhere since I was 13 (I'm 37). I'm wanting to get back out there and start performing again and see where it takes me. This was super helpful, thank you!
So if you are not a singer but just have a good voice and sings well can they do it.. As I myself not a experienced singer but I sing well and there is this open mic coming up ???
I can't sing really but I want to jam and live in a area where musicians are hard to find. I want to share my original songs with people can I do open mics just playing guitar and no vocals?!?
True. I noticed that too. Most of the songs are Woodstock era, three chord songs. I understand keeping the song simple but would like to perform metal myself.
One issue I have never heard addressed is how many (most?) hosts only let their friends perform, and exclude anyone else they don't already know. On the one occasion I expressed displeasure with this, I was told I was "difficult to work with" and immediately banned from the venue. What's going on?
Thanks man, what’s funny’s I’m not even into coffee but I’ll sign up for an open mic soon
Well done. Absolutely will be showing this to everyone who asks me about playing out. And people who i think should be playing out.
Thanks, man! I tried to make it informative, quick, and interesting.
This was really informative!
Thanks! I like your channel, and watch one video earlier. I'll sub you so I don't miss any more videos :)
Ive never been to one. It sounds interesting. Thanks for the cool video!
They can certainly be pretty interesting. You should definitely try checking some out in your area.

They certainly can be!
Another good one Nick.

No particular brand. I drink it black with no sugar and fairly strong. I quite like Columbian and also Guatemalan varieties.
Rock on! We love open mic!
Awesome! I love them, too.
This was helpful, thank you🥰
You’re welcome 😊

Yeah, no. Be prepared to be rejected outright, or relegated to the end of the queue. Guitarists who can't sing really hate anyone who can.

Sucks open mics aren't metal friendly from I've seen.

Acoustic metal??
...or too many beers \m/
those two last people sound pretty good. I am worried about going because I think my voice sucks
