I'm 68 years old. I have been dealing with comics and comic book movies since 1961. Before Marvel Comics even existed. So yeah I am a vet. I was reading Peacemaker and Judo Master back when they both still belonged to Charton Comics before D.C. bought them. I bought X-Men Vol. 1 #1 off the rack when it was new. So I understand where you are coming from.
Red Sonja was released on 4k in England. I bought it. Real nice. Keep in mind Red Sonja is not Conan movie due to rights. Arnold plays a different character by name.
"Crisis" was awesome it got me reading more DC as a kid.... the aftermath with the Byrne retelling of Superman's stuff and Perez's Wonder Woman and the new Flash series with Wally West got me hooked.
Same here. I was buying Who's Who as CoIE was coming out so between the two it was a great introduction to all of the characters and history of DC. Those relaunches were great and an easy way to get into all the main characters.
I'm a Young Justice/Teen Titans fan, built on the Wolfman/Perez foundation the younger characters often seem more interesting than the big 3 in DC. Byrne and Perez did good work on other titles too.
Excited for Conan and Crisis. Getting tired of multiverse stuff but CoIE is an exception, and the Sam Register produced DC animation rarely disappoints me.
Keith the problem is that most studio heads, distributors heads are not connected to the creative process involved in movies and television shows. To them it’s all a product like another can of beans to be sold or cancelled.
Hi Heath, another dude already asked, but could you confirm if the Basil Poledoris score at the beginning of Conan the Barbarian was fixed for this release? The choral tracks for the iconic "Anvil of Crom" that plays during the attack on Conan's village were accidentally omitted when they mastered the previous domestic blu-ray. I would assume it's probably been done correctly, given the overseas blu-rays were correct. Thanks man.
My favorite Conan author is Robert Jordan. I remember talking to Jordan about why he was not a fan of the Conan movies, and how he didn't like the collection cover of his book because it had the unrealistic Schwartzenegger muscles rather than being pantherine.
I like Robert Jordan's Conan work too and it's very true that those movies are almost entirely different from the Robert E. Howard stories AND the comics. The movies turn him into a dumb beefcake, but the Conan of the printed page was clever.
@@CerealAtMidnight The changes in character bothered Robert Jordan which is why he never thought his own original work should be adapted. I do enjoy the Conan films for what they are. Personally, I prefer the Conan from the cartoon, Conan the Adventurer (1992). I'm probably overdue for a rewatch of that.
I can't stand auto correct, but then I don't have social media or even a smart phone, so I can afford to turn it off. I may have to get those Conan 4Ks even though I don't upgrade a lot. In my case, it'll be from DVD. But I do love the Milius film.
Heath got a question for you which is this. What is the web site addy for VCI? please thanks.I have the complete Red Rider series of the tv show but did not know about the movies. Thanks again as usual thanks for your help.Keep up the Good work and also keep telling it like it is.I simply love how you tell the truth about the industry.Believe you are right on.
I find conan the destroyer more entertaining than the first film. Better pace, better action and just more fun and rewatchable. Plus the fun drinking game of taking a shot whenever the princess says 'Bombata' 😂
Still got my $43 best buy pre order for the Conan Chronicles on 4k. Hey Heath, does the score on CTB sound intact? When Universal released the blu ray, they fudged the 5.1 soundtrack with the score.
So the Conan chronicles one combines the 2 booklets? Still so strange how they did 3 different versions but I guess it’s for the people who don’t like both films? But it’s cheaper getting them in one pack lol
Heath. Do not stop. I really enjoy listening to your show. I know I am just some random person on the internet but have some advice. Quit chasing the algorithm and just funnel people to your podcast outside of TH-cam. Continue posting clips on TH-cam by all means for "marketing" purpose but start building outside of TH-cam. The future is not going to be centralized algorithms controlling what people think and do as it will continue to become more corporatized and politically correct. This way you can speak directly to your audience without youtube having to recommend your video. I added your chennel to podverse and always get excited when you post something long form. I can listen in my car or when doing chores. It is great. Keep up the good fight
Thanks for the advice and thanks for listening to the podcast in audio form. We're on the same page. The future is not necessarily on this platform, and as restrictions get tighter and as the algorithm becomes a little god that controls everything, I'm seeking to grow on other outlets. I need to figure out how to make CerealAtMidnight.com the first place people go, because it's the home of everything I do--podcasts, videos, and articles alike.
TH-cam is only looking out for TH-cam. Users and content creators be damned. Interests may sometimes align but TH-cam will only allow it if they benefit.
Heath, it’s driving me crazy what that riff is from that you play on guitar a couple times at the beginning of this stream. It’s on the tip of my tongue! Help!
We need to get people in our government that will end the jimmy carter legacy of deregulation .to enforce regulations against big business greed and selfishness that they direct against their employees and us consumers .Those creators are serving big business arts they don't deserved to supported.
The worst thing from the New 52 was the sparkly Emo Lobo they came up with... how do you try to remake that cigar chompin , space hog ridin bastich .... you don't
The engaging of the viewer or should I say not engaging is quite bothersome. You put all the effort in you see how many people are watching and you don’t see any comments or a thumbs up or any type of acknowledgment that they even participated with the video. So you don’t know whether or not you’re giving them what they want to see. 1:29:19
where are you getting your comics, I stopped buying comics 2 yrs ago, after buying em for 45+ years, because they were nearly 5 bucks an issue. And if you're buying all the good titles that are out there you'd go broke.... I truely wish they were $3 an issue.... I miss reading em
I buy all my comics digitally now. I get them through Comixology, which just got merged with Amazon's Kindle service at the end of 2023. I can pick up huge chunks of comics for just a few bucks per volume, and I like reading them on my iPad more than I liked reading them on paper. Plus, no clutter or mess, either. I'm really embracing digital these days more and more.

I'm late to the party, but it would be incredible to see George Feltenstein on the podcast! Thanks for all you do, Heath.

Awesome livestream once again Heath! Thank you! God bless and stay safe!

Thanks for subbing and hanging out!
Another home run streaming Heath thank you for all that you do 🎉
Excited for Conan and Crisis. Getting tired of multiverse stuff but CoIE is an exception, and the Sam Register produced DC animation rarely disappoints me.
I would love to get the conan set, but its a US only realease. So i have import it, think im gonna have to do that.
Any chance of a cereal at midnight podcast with VEI talking about the TV releases that they do?
I've tried, and they don't respond to emails.

Don’t worry Heath your videos are great.

Your talking about those who are not fan of classic films. The decades varied with each film fan.For me 1910 passed the 1950's
This is an soft x version of that film, but, holly woods version of an x is different than a independent.
Your talented with the guitar .

Thanks, Kenneth! I have the Red Ryder movies, but I didn't know there was a TV show!
You can find VCI online at www.vcientertainment.com
we both got something out of this one.lol@@CerealAtMidnight
Great show!

And who is not a 3D fan,too.

If you buy the Chronicles set, you get Blu-Ray AND 4k. Weird it's like that.
So the Conan chronicles one combines the 2 booklets? Still so strange how they did 3 different versions but I guess it’s for the people who don’t like both films? But it’s cheaper getting them in one pack lol
Apparently the COMPLETE box drops the hardboxes, combines the booklets, and adds Blu-rays for the movies. Not bad for $45!

I wasn't playing anything consciously.
In my poor review channel I watch the whole movie.
Right on, man - youtube punishes creators now. If I made a movie, I would want you to do the commentary 😊
Your not old as me.I go back to the early 60's.

Spot on re: criterion
How about the copycat.
Ted Kord.... Blue Beetle needs to always be partnered with Booster Gold in everything!!! The new Reyes led movie wasn't bad though, super fun
They aren't making original titles.
The worst thing from the New 52 was the sparkly Emo Lobo they came up with... how do you try to remake that cigar chompin , space hog ridin bastich .... you don't
Oh your using a lap top
