I just adopted a 2 yr. old Maine Coon cat and he is the most beautiful boy and has the most amazing personality! They say that they keep growing until age 5 or even sometimes 7 !! He is already a big boy at age 2, I'm curious to see just how much bigger he will get. I just love him!!

I'm happy for you! He is a beautiful cat, and so well mannered. We have two Maine Coon mixes, and they are not as large as Zeus. But, one of them is almost 17 lbs, and he is not as well mannered as we'd like. He is great with people, but hurts the smaller cats in the house. He is not playing. He wants to kill them. So, he has to spend half of his day locked in the bathroom and when he is around the house, we have to lock the smaller cats in the bedroom. We love him, but he is a bully and frightens the small cats.

They're wonderful pets. We had a couple when I was growing up; very fond memories of 'Scamper', a huge, gray/white Maine Coon who was very loving with us and the dogs...and even killed a hawk once who interrupted his afternoon nap in the sun when the hawk obviously mistook him for a little rabbit...oops!
