    Hi everyone, just to confirm all hacks and mods work as they did before with this update to FCC and 1200mw are all still good you just may need to do them again after updating.
    I forgot to add this to the end of the video

    Thank you, as found your list of 24 elements a useful reference. I made my own list by individually turning on/off an single element at a time. Now I need to compare, as don't remember seeing crosshairs and sidebars; but did enable RTH direction arrow and distance. (kind of helpful for knowing which direction baring to face for better goggle aiming.. ;)
    Too bad Betaflight Configuration did not just include a "DJI" option slider that grayed-out all non-supported OSD elements.
    Wish had the DJI Betaflight OSD info a couple months ago, as could not find on any details on Betaflight wiki. (only comment is it is not officially supported, and thus not part of the standard betaflight maintenance process ... paraphrasing, but ... )
    BTW: Betaflight now has 3x OSD profiles, but only one set of element positions across all profiles, so less useful than it could be.
    Currently considering moving to INAV as position hold and RTH features are very compelling.

    hello its been less than one week i got a brand new 5" 6s drone which included the dji goggles and i got also radiomaster+
    crossfire...all updated running 1watt output on crossfire and 1200mw video and 50mbps on dji fpv..remains to add the gps module which i dont know if worth the time to solder on will it even work properly? but my main problem is that on OSD in goggles not all options appear on screen...i have the Rssi but i want the Qlink mostly and this dont appear among other options who dont appear also..is there any fix for that? as for the Rssi i m pretty sure the value showing is incorrect..i have set on TX the crossfire channel 8 to Rssi/LQ ...then on betaflight i disabled the Rssi ADG on setup screen and i set to channel 4 on the reciever tab the Rssi..then on failsafe i set the channel 4 from hold to set at 1000....where am i doing wrong? please my main question is about showing on OSD in goggles the Qlink value..that i care mostly

    DO you need a flight controller with an OSD built into it to get OSD in the DJI goggles? I'm assuming so, unless the air unit is pulling OSD information from somewhere else?
    So for instance, could you use the Holybro Kakute F7 Tekko32 F3 HDV Stack, which doesn't have an OSD on the flight controller and get betaflight OSD information on the DJI goggles? Or would you have to use a different flight controller with a OSD chip on it?
    If so, do you have any recommendations of a good flight controller with a OSD chip on board and a voltage regulator to hook the Air unit up to so I can run it on 6s?
    Thanks for the great video)

    In Betaflight I can't get the DisableOSD slider bar under MODES to have
    any effect on turn on or off the actual OSD in the DJI goggles The OSD
    stays on regardless whether the tic is in the zone and it's highlighted
    or not via being bound to a switch on a transmitter channel.
    Turning
    the Custom OSD on or off inside the DJI Goggles under Display works,
    but at either in the OFF or ON position, it has no effect on allowing
    Betaflight to turn the OSD on or off. At least for me. I guess
    maybe it depends on your flight controller / osd chip, and your mileage
    may vary?

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can not turn on and off the OSd from that part of betaflight. That to control the onboard OSD chip. DJI is using the MSP protocol to communicate and overlay the data and it’s entirely separate from that setting.

    I’m new to fpv and finding your vids really helpful.
    Literally just learnt about “hacking” it and giving me 700mw option from the locked 25mw it gave me.
    Would 25mw have been the reason my quad fell out of the sky today. Suddenly and for no papers to reason.
    I wasn’t that far from the quad. (Can see myself in drone footage just before it falls but I was facing away from drone with drone behind me. )

    How does it know when the distance is more than 1Km when I'm flying my miniquad without GPS?

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have no idea on this one, I’m trying to get some answers. It’s a strange one as nothing is shown at all in the firmware. If you had GPS it could pull the data from MSP for distance from home but that’s about all I can think off.

    • @steimy7377
      @steimy7377 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s likely a setting that you employ when you plan on flying >1km, not a change that takes place once you travel past 1km.

    • @protonus
      @protonus 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can tell relative distance from packet return time because the system is bidirectional. The farther you are away, the longer it takes a packet to make a round trip. By knowing power levels and packet return time at various distances in testing, DJI can estimate distance.

    • @xjet
      @xjet 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@protonus I'd be rather surprised if that was the strategy used. The "round trip" time would be just 6uS and that could easily be less than the jitter imposed by the processing of a received packet and the generation of an ACK -- but who knows.

    • @protonus
      @protonus 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@xjet Oh hey, didn't notice that was you xjet :-) Now that I know I'm talking to someone with a brain haha, let me share more. Re: this timing suggestion, I'm actually just parroting information from someone who is much more familiar about RF than I am - Hugo @ TrueRC! Backstory, there was a thought in DJI groups, that the new DJI system was somehow limiting people to 4mi exactly, as the system would rapidly degrade and disconnect for many users at this distance. It turns out that this is probably due to some poor design choices on the VAS Cyclops that these users were using, as folks with twin TrueRX X-Airs have gone further and see less dramatic fall off, however, I think that is what this "distance improivement" is aiming to address - trade some quality for greater range, so signal doesn't plummet as quick. At any rate, the original quote from Hugo about this is as follows:
      "the amimon had a 1km limit programmed. By time keying the data packet it could calculate distance tx to rx. - Hugo Chamberland". Thread is here: facebook.com/groups/DJI.FPV/permalink/2754649981259773/?comment_id=2754672764590828

    Hi, the OSD Horizon Sidebars are displayed, but they do not change when I move the board (Mater F722SE). Does anyone else have this problem?
