I can relate. My dad's been dead for just over 4 years and my memories of fishing with him and my younger brother (also passed away) are some of my happiest! For me it was fishing for bass and pike around Kingstown, Ontario 🇨🇦 .
As a Florida resident, I know where you went and it is the showcase of what Florida beaches can provide. Florida is amazing for its many fisheries. Glad you could head to my neck of the woods, I hope you enjoyed.

The freshwater fish was a cichlid, it's an escaped aquarium fish that has become invasive like the tilapia. That area is super fun to fish.

I got through TSA with a box of triple treble Super Spooks and Magnum Long A's in my carry on over the summer. They didn't bat an eye at the hooks, but they did bust the lady behind me for having chili in her bag 😂. Beautiful baits man, its always great to see you dropping new videos!
I think you should make a full size 60 inch Muskie lure and try to catch a wells catfish with it in a collab with Jeremy Wade

Some advice from an old Father of 3 and grandpa! Enjoy every second they grow to fast brother! I had mine fishing and surfing 🏄♂️ Florida east coast before they were in Kindergarten. Served me well,it always kept them off the street and out of trouble. They would rather fish and surf 🏄♂️ than do anything else. As a tip for sawing on the band saw, you can use the negative shape of the bait to have a full-surface support.

hey man you gave me motive to make my own baits, just from watching your videos, not taking the course i want to try on my own to see how i can do first, and so far its turning out amazing, making a redhorse sucker topwater for muskies and northern, its crazy how much time and work goes into making these baits, i dont even have paint on it yet and i probably have 5 hours into it, thank you for showing us your work!!

Fun video, glad you guys got away on a trip! We just spent a week in Jamaica and man, the Maine sun got nothing on Jamaica sun. I wish we could have done some fishing but we did a lot of snorkeling with Barracuda and Lion fish. I hope you guys get to do that again soon!

Unless something has changed since last April, you shoild have been totally fine with those hooks in yoir carry-on. We did a Florida trip last year and ALL my gear apart from my rods was in one of my carry-on bags (including some pretty big hooks) and the TSA folks didn't even bat an eye! Lots of fun down there; thanks for staring!!
Yeah i believe the max size for hooks is 4 inches but i had no problem taking some jig heads on the plane. And i got stopped by security and they looked at them but no issues. I do believe they are technically supposed to be wrapped but mine weren't.

Well, if you were going to loose a lure, at least it was while fighting a fish. I have never had too much luck fishing in Florida on the piers and things. We once rented a house near the mouth of a river that went into gulf. I did catch a lot of fish on that trip, even caught some sting rays. Great lure as always!

The first fresh water fish you caught is called a Jack Dempsey Cichlid there is even a super rare electric blue variant of the fish! Would be a sweet bait idea! and You'd slay 'em next time you go to Florida! Awesome video man!

The small fish you caught from the small pond is a jack Dempsey and has a variation called the electric blue jack Dempsey, that would be an awesome one to paint

Nice to see you visiting florida with the family and having a good time, except for the lure getting lost. You guys should consider coming down to SW florida, around Marco Island with the Everglades and Ten Thousand Islands you can experience the best of Fresh and Saltwater fishing with all sorts of species to catch.

Welcome to Melbourne Beach, FL! Yes, you should move to Florida. Awesome trip! Florida is the fishing state. If you travel Key Largo city that is great place to fish, but even better on the Fleet Fishing boat for deepsea. Great video!

Yeah, the 60 FPS is cool. So is your craftsmanship! Quite time consuming. After all that work, I'd most likely lose it on my first trip out with it. ...You know, my name's Chip too... Ialso get a lot of the "not so smooth Chippy" as well. ..but, I'm probably a "couple" of years older. Blessings.
Day 15 of asking marling to make a top water stick bait like ones used for gt and yellow tail king fish. this would have been the perfect video for it but would still be interesting to see if a bass would hit one

Your tiny first florida freshwater fish was a jack Dempsey. Rocio octofaciata is a cichlid commonly kept in aquaria. A large one gets about 8", typically the males are the larger. Thats enough fun facts for your first florida fish.
