- Hi gardening friends. In today's video I show you how easy it is to create your own butterfly garden design and create a garden sanctuary for the Alata butterfly garden. The Atala is rare and every butterfly garden space we can create for them, will help the species come back form being endangered. If you have any questions on how to create your own, please leave a comment below and I will make sure to get back to you.

@@LETSGROWGARDENDESIGN I love all your videos I have a big butterfly garden at my place too I live in ft Lauderdale.
Nice explanation, graphic garden plan and examples! After several years of less Atala visitors than usual, the two large masses of coontie plants on either side of our driveway have returned to go through the shabby-look of being decimated by atalas. BIG NOTE from this year - we had added a few "vinca" / old time Florida periwinkle plants (and they multiplied and interspersed themselves in and up through the coontie in a couple of places). Notable was that a huge and dense hoard of chrysalises installed themselves particularly on a few periwinkle branches that had grown up and over the coontie. Interesting placement. There were still lots and even groupings on places directly on the coontie, but haven't ever seen this concentration of chrysalises. SUGGESTION: Only once did I see (for a brief moment) a shot of the upper wings that have that gorgeous iridescent blue slathered across the upper wing. They don't "show" this side much, but maybe you could open up the wings of one that had pre-maturely died, to show the incredible but well-hidden sight...just magical!!! THANK YOU FOR ADDING TO OUR SENSE OF MOTHER NATURE - ALWAYS POSSIBLE TO SUPPORT!!!
You are most welcome! I am so glad your Atala's are back ! And it's so cool that you found the Atala chrysalises on your periwinkles! 😀🪴
Thank you for another wonderful video!
Thank you Dave! We so appreciate your interest and support. 😀🌳
So I had no idea at one point these were extinct or thought to be. We do so much Focus on the Monarch but there's many others that need just as much attention. The Monarch is the butterfly I personally see the most (unless a queen)
Cool video uncle mike
