The Archangel Gabriel appears to Mary and tells her that she shall be the mother of Jesus, the son of God. She and her husband Joseph travel to Bethlehem, where Jesus is born. This might be the only film version of Christ's tale that includes mention of The Virgin Mary and St. Joseph's families and their situation in life before they discover what God has in mind for them.
Starring 1980s character actors Blanche Baker and Jeff East. Filmed in Israel and first aired on December 9, 1979.

I wished that people would make Christmas about Jesus like it’s so much more ! It’s sad! I searched for a movie about Mary and Joseph because it’s all about the birth of Christ. I did saw some new ones but this old one I said will be much better.
I just love this movie, it's just Unbelievable, Awesome, Loving, Wholesome, Beautiful, The Locations are Just so Breathtaking, The Cast is Amazing, I remember watching this when it was on the ABC Network back in 1988, and during the next few hours, I sat back on the couch in spellbound silence, a few years later, I was watching This movie again, This time it was on the EWTN Network, Still It was The Best Movie ever.
I was a kid at begining of the 80' s when I watched during holyweek this movie of Joseph and mary at the theater in my country . One of the best movies about mary and Jospeh .Thank for sharing it.

For the history lovers, Joseph wearing blue would either get him killed or most definitely get a lot of strange looks. The only people allowed to wear blue in the Roman Empire were the Caesars, plus it was crazy expensive to make anyway, so most people didn't mind not being allowed to wear it because they couldn't afford it anyway.
Purple not blue was the choice of the Caesar’s and today’s royalty also.
@@Sunny25611Purple was a saturated blue, and due to the expense of making blue, to go to purple was the full force of the dye. Caligula and others were the only ones allowed to wear any type of blue, according to many sources.

Wasn't Mary of the house of David, not Joseph. If it was Joseph, the prophesies couldn't be fulfilled. Mary is the only biological parent, Joseph unrelated (in a way). Thus for the Messiah to be born OF the house of David, Mary would have had to be the descendent. I believe scripture backs me up on this just blanking on chapter and verse to refer to. I'm sure someone will correct me lol!
