    Just picked up one of these in an auction. Dated 29/30 AD. Had no idea about the history until just before. Amazing coin. Great video.

    Before the internet I read a book or journal article where they determined that what they thought were ancient (Old Kingdom) Egyptian beads were in fact coins. They were small (~.5"), flat, fairly thin, with a hole in the center to string them to carry them. I mention this because Joseph was sold around the second dynasty for 20 pieces of silver as a slave. As far as I know these are near the earliest mention of coins (Gen 37:28). Abraham ~150 years earlier is the earliest mention I know of. I also remember that at the time in Egypt, silver was more valuable than gold.

      Could it be that Joseph was sold for twenty pieces of silver as a male youth under twenty but Jesus price the price of a female, his bride 🙌 us, our redemption.

    A mild redirection to avoid confusion. I’m saying this is the classification not that this was one of the literal betrayal coins. Mine was minted 12 years AFTER the crucifixion, therefore, not even a good candidate to have been handled by Judas. If it were earlier, then it would be a candidate but even then would be like winning the super lotto and correct there were be no method to determine who this coin had been handled by.

      Good 👍 question.
      Because there is an abundance of ancient coins.
      If the Vatican grabbed all the ancient coins it would be much too much numerous.

    With original translations, what’s your thought? Do you think the two coins given by the widow in tithing before YESHUA were the same kind penny he criticized with ceasers inscription? What do you think we’re these the same kind of coin?

    • @FaithAndFact-MarkyMark
      @FaithAndFact-MarkyMark  ปีที่แล้ว

      The “widows mite” Luke 21:1-3
      Is believed to be a bronze mite, also known as a Lepton (meaning small), minted by Alexander Jannaeus, King of Judaea, 103 - 76 B.C. and still in circulation at the time of Jesus. Very different from our modern day penny in appearance but similar in the sense that it is our smallest denomination. 👍
      These ancient coins are very common and available typically worth $15- $150 bucks.

    • @FaithAndFact-MarkyMark
      @FaithAndFact-MarkyMark  ปีที่แล้ว

      P.S. the coin mentioned in the “render to Caesar what is Caesars” in Greek Jesus asks for a denarius which is thought to be the “tribute penny” denarius displaying Caesar Tiberius on it.

    • @Sapphiretodentistry
      @Sapphiretodentistry ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FaithAndFact-MarkyMark so if I’m understanding correctly. They were worth the same, but different coins?

    • @FaithAndFact-MarkyMark
      @FaithAndFact-MarkyMark  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah, the denarius where Jesus asks them who is printed on is a higher denomination silver coin probably worth a days labor. The two bronze mites the widow dropped in were not worth much at all, like a modern penny.

      2. I do NOT claim these were the actually silver pieces of silver received by Judas in betrayal of Jesus. 😆

    • @FaithAndFact-MarkyMark
      @FaithAndFact-MarkyMark  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jerusalem Minted half-shekels -- as opposed to the Tyre Minted half-shekel -- typically have the letters "KP" or "KAP" engraved to the right of the eagle; dates of the Jerusalem Mint coinage range from 18 B.C. to 69/70 A.D.
      The Greek letters "KAP" are an abbreviation for "KAICAP", the Greek word for "Caesar".
