- This video explains stress linearization of nozzle shell junction using ANSYS APDL/classic. This video is second part of nozzle shell analysis using workbench.
It highlights stress extraction and stress assessment though stress linearization, membrane stress & membrane plus bending stress evaluation, also briefs, Stress assessment as per ASME standards.

Excellent video. Could you please guide how to get linearized stressed for shell element. Thanks
Stress linearization for shell body is possible but longer process due to more equations. We are planning webinar for this, you can attend.
Grasp Engineering Thanks. I'll wait for further information from you. Regards
Why you haven't used the stress criteria 3*Sa for membrane plus bending. Can't we take the bending stress due to external nozzle loads as secondary? Please explain
Yes you can take, but better to refer table 5.6 from ASME Section VIII Div.2 for vessel component, location and origin of stress.
@@graspengineering9249 I think that membrane(PL) + bending strss(Q) shall be considered with 3×Sa. Because every nozzles has external loads and pressure. Is it right?
Your great sir
thank you
Great video! Could you please put a link for the geometry or share a video to how did you made the nozzle? Did you made in ANSYS or other CAD software?
Thanks ! We generally referred from grabcad or we do model in ANSYS design Modeler. Please kindly refer our modeling videos ( design modeler) from our channel. Please find link for ob-round nozzle modeling. th-cam.com/video/vIAHil6Uqkk/w-d-xo.html
great video sir but the voice is very low in all videos from u sir.
Thank you. We will reupload this video with improved noise.
Can you please explain what is the real meaning of Stress linearization and for what simulation we extract
In case of pressure vessel, we mainly interested to see stresses across thickness, not only on surfaces. Also International codes gives guidelines for stress extraction across thickness for pressure vessel which is done through taking path across thickness of the vessel called stress linearization.
You can refer videos mentioned in description for more details. Thanks
@@graspengineering9249 Thanks you are response. If possible, can you please make a video on non linear analysis of Helical gear.
What kind of nonlinearity is included in this analysis ? Might be helical gear mating?
Generally linear solution is done except thread analysis in case of gear.
Can you share the WB project? It seems that you already solved the problem in WB and then solved in APDL.
We dont keep the backup ! Thanks !
Work on yourself bro, the steps are pretty clear to follow, if you don't understand about particular things, keen to learn, it will help you in the future, the engineering mindset solve the problem
Nice video, can you make video on material model
Thank you !
Sure we will make.
Audio voice is very low, hardly able to hear
Okay, We will upload further new video
